I once thought home was a place —
a shore where someone waits,
a door that opens softly
when the heart is tired.

I searched through countless skies,
through voices and echoes,
through days that forgot their own dawn.
Everywhere I went,
I carried a small flame —
a promise that light remembers.

But then…
I heard a sound —
soft, like the breath between two heartbeats.
It wasn’t calling me back —
it was calling me in.

And there I found it —
the warmth that never asked for proof,
the gaze that never turned away,
the arms that were not two, but one:
the embrace of existence itself.

Here, silence is not empty.
It hums with love unspoken,
a language older than any word.
Even the stars seem to whisper:
“You were never lost.”

Now, when I say home,
I no longer mean a place.
I mean a wave
that moves through all things.
I mean the moment
when love recognizes itself —
and smiles.

This is where we belong.

Applefish is the ambient electronica project of Nik Davies, a musician and producer whose work is best described as a fusion of space ambient, downtempo, and electronica, with substantial cross-pollination from drone, psychill, and modern classical genres. The space ambient descriptor is especially apt—much of Applefish's discography explores cosmic and astronomical themes, guiding listeners through ethereal voyages and otherworldly realms.
