This delightful EP comprises three variations of the artist’s 2019 track “Thalassophile”; a “resprayed” 2024 mix, sprucing up the stunning original with a polished new style, a joyful Balearic Mix and a gorgeous Chillout mix, all interweaving the original’s captivating chord progression with stunning melodies and beautiful atmospherics.

Northern Elements

The winters in northern Poland can be particularly unforgiving. Granted, there’s a lot about the country that still smacks of the austere, but on this wintry night, The Bearded Man wasn’t too worried about keeping icicles from growing on his lengthy whiskers. He had shacked up for the night (week?) and was trying to shake a cold that just wouldn’t quit. Outside, the humid air coming off the Baltic Sea certainly wasn’t doing anyone any favors, and inside, a small space heater struggled to augment an archaic but happy-go-lucky stove heater. Despite the unfortunate conditions, The Bearded Man remained happy, calm, and filled with an inner warmth. He spooned in plenty of thick zurek and gulped down some of the most delicious golabki he had ever encountered. Of course, he chased each delicious bite with plenty of Zubrówka and continued to have some pretty incredible discussions with Northerns Element and Krystale. That’s why, to this day, whenever they encounter one another, they always yell “Zubrówka!" and laugh about their crazy adventures in days gone by.

American artist Koda recently appeared on Silk Sofa with his acclaimed "Myrina" EP, which included four outstanding compositions and reached the Top 20 on Beatport's Overall Release Chart. "The Last Stand" has already received immense support on his SoundCloud page, and we're proud to finally present this song as a single on Silk Sofa. On remix duties, we are happy to welcome back veteran Swedish sensation Claes Rosén, as well as rising Australian talent Stray Theories.

The original mix includes beautiful, haunting atmospheres, accompanied by mesmerizing percussion elements. Koda himself blissfully emhances the song with his unique voice throughout the track. Swedish artist Claes Rosén returns to Silk with his interpretation of "The Last Stand"; a mysterious breakbeat beautifully surrounds Koda's vocals, and a soothing bassline sits perfectly in the background. Australian producer Stray Theories, a new addition to Silk Sofa, contributes with a smooth, chilled version. Lush piano lines, accompanied by a vast array of mesmerizing pad lines, unite stunningly in this track.
