Ten poets, one commission: to programme an hour of spoken word radio for digital station Hive Radio. Armed with portable recorders and editing support, they are at liberty to collect anything at all – so long as it contains spoken word.

'Tell me the truth about love' asked the poet W H Auden but did he ever discover the answer? Well now Sheffield poet Stan Skinny has taking up the quest that Auden started, in an effort to finally pin the answer down. In this hour long radio show, Stan, travels across the Yorkshire moors visiting poets, writers, musicians, artists and more, gathering poems, songs and clues from them. But will the journey take its toll on him and does anyone even care about love any more? 

Part film noir, part investigative journalism and part onion, will Stan succeed where so many others have failed, and finally give us a definitive answer to the question - what is the truth about love?

Apples and Snakes - Home Cooking: Tell Me The Lies About Love with Stan Skinny

Lydia Tomkiw was a Chicago-based poet of Ukrainian heritage. She was active from the early 1980s onwards, initially as part of a cult music/poetry duo called Algebra Suicide. After their demise, she forged a solo career until her untimely death in 2007.
