What in the royal hell is going on with this track? How is it possibly so fundamentally brilliant? Why am I listening to this on repeat, for what is likely the 100th (plus) subsequent execution in playdom?  Totally ludicrous. Love it. :))

Activist of the French underground techno scene for more than ten years and with releases on prestigious labels such as Mobilee, Correspondant or My Favorite Robot, Nhar is an artist who needs no introduction. 

We're very proud to release his new EP on our humble imprint. 

If Nhar spiritual roots are firmly anchored in a futuristic kind of techno informed by science fiction and new technology, his heart is definitely beating at a much more human pace; his music tinted by the torments and heartaches of human beings. 

Nostromo and Kartveli, the two originals pieces presented here, are futuristic and melodic, enveloped in synthetic pads and strings. They diffuse a warm analog sound and could easily soundtrack a journey on a spinner - those flying cars floating on the night skies of Blade Runner. 
Melodies and vocoders collide and swirl over vintage drums machines and discoid bass lines as you are dreamily watching landscapes of the future through your window. 

The remixes continue with the dreamy robots vibe of the originals while stepping up the energy. 

First, we find Canadian producer Fairmont who takes on Kartveli. 
Another artist who needs no introduction, Fairmont's work is not completely far off Nhar's productions, in the sense that both artists have a real love of melodies and dreamy electronic textures. 
His remix tones down the airiness of the original and adds a mean metallic snare, boosting the driving feel of the track and turning it into a peak time monster. 

Nostromo is revisited by Tunnel Signs who accentuates the techno side of the original with the addition of a disturbing siren and steady beat, it all gets very bleak and darker, especially with the introduction of lethal EBM bass line in the second half of the remix. 

To close the EP and send us to dream of electric sheeps, Franz Kirmann brings a futuristic twist to his ambient and reinvent Kartveli as a romance between a human and a Nexus 6 replicant.

The harmonious, soothing sound production subtly develops a continuous arc of thrilling suspense across the album tracks.
Enchanted Voyages of the Odyssee comes with a remarkable remix album . The list of remixers speaks for itself. Ryan Dupree provides the overture with his mighty Fruit of Forgetfulness. Just as extravagant is the next track; Talul – Pauke Schaumburg makes you dream again, while Panik Pop's charming remix conjures up some desert atmosphere. Pingpong then pushes you to ever higher levels with a wide variety of layered sounds, and Tony Casanova sends you straight to the club, shaking the dancefloor right under your feet. Beatamines then enchants you with truly outlandish sounds. Finally, W o l v e s rounds off the album with driving sounds that you just can't keep your feet still to. 
This remix album has something for (almost) everyone, sampling various genres by top-notch performers; taking an audio sample here is definitely worthwhile.

In the Netherlands some neophile named I-f was fed up with the same old techno 'movement'. This in mind he added some fairly unorthodox dimensions to this gathering, forever changing its course. With primitive electronic equipment I-f transferred sounds from the 80s to the here and now. And by chance, he landed a hit. "Space Invaders are Smoking Grass" is I-f´s entry to Electro-anthem status. Like Funk never happened. 

This is family fodder for dance crazes, for lovers of 'alternative' music, for the whole scattered techno community, as well as for the homelistener who likes to smoke a cigar when hearing 'strange' sounds on the sofa. I-f´s versatile approach to music can't be measured with just this one track. His first full length album on Disko B records proves the point. Fucking Consumer is pretty strong stuff. Electro-nix pure and clear. No nice recycled retro package. It's out of it, sails in its own universe, because it doesn't rely on others.

The overall mood is well-tempered, it seems to be playing along some sound history. Next thing you know, Fucking Consumer is exploding into bursts of noise - what a pleasure. Track by track I-f demands the attention of the listener anew. The final countdown occurs in a little gothic interlude with G.D. from L.A.'s Christian Death delivering the vocals. This Record was the start of a series of records by I-f (I-F – The Man From P.A.C.K, 1999, The Parallax Corporation – Cocadisco in 2003). There were massive records following this pioneer advance and a first clash on electro was done long before Larry T was dreaming of creating electro-clash.
