Each December we release a compilation that reflects the current year and looks ahead to the next. It's a mix of tracks where artists complement each other and where we feature some of their strongest work. It can be seen as a proud collection of tracks that defines the Atomnation sound.

2K19 features new work from Applescal, Milio, Mordisco and Sam Goku. Tunnelvisions, boys be kko, Coloray, Sky Civilian and Polynation complete the selection with songs that got released earlier this year on their respective albums / EP's.

Atomnation - 2019 Compilation

Eccentric Tokyo based producer Ryunosuke Hayashi a.k.a. https://soundcloud.com/boys-be-kko joins the Atomnation family with his 'Big Boys Don't Cry' 12" - a 4-tracker that includes a big remix from the highly respected DJ, producer, and remixer Gerd Janson. Both artists make their first appearance on the Dutch imprint.

Sam Goku is Robin Wang. Based in Munich, he's writing techno music that has bonds with ambient, acid, and electronica.

It seems like every time that dancers and listeners start craving for a new challenge, a new inspiration, there is an artist not only providing that, but furthermore questioning what we think we know about club sound. It's always a satisfying experience when an artist manages to actually create a modern sound by implementing what makes electronic music so dearly appreciated amongst enthusiasts: repetition, blended noises and just a pinch of cheeky, unexpected madness. Sam Goku does exactly that - in each track, each set, he tells a story: a slowly developing, gripping tale that leaves enough room for interpretation.

Psychedelic reminiscences, vibrant percussions, and hypnotic progressions characterize the eclectic sound of Ángel and Hugo, A.K.A. Mordisco.

Hailing from Granada, Spain, they play records and produce music together. Their approach blurs the lines between Techno, House, and Disco – providing a very free and personal vision to dance music.

This vision recently translated to an EP released on My Favorite Robot Records that included a remix from the respected veteran producer, DJ and remixer Sascha Funke. Also, earlier this year, their track “Zenit” released on Coloray’s Intercept records and made many dancefloors move.

Thanks to the organization and curating of their Mordisco Club parties in their hometown, Ángel and Hugo have been able to obtain an expression channel since 2011 with which they show their particular vision of independent electronic music.

That expression is clearly represented in the guest artists who have gone through their parties and with those who have shared booth: Red Axes, Fort Romeau, John Talabot, Pional, and Jeniffer Cardini, amongst many others.

The next step for Mordisco is the release of a new track right before the end of the year and forthcoming on Applescal's Atomnation records. "Ventura" has a punk-indie feel with a magic scat vocal sample that's right on the money and will make many dancefloors move.
