Long overdue, we've finally got back to the task of editing up more tracks pulled from our four improvisations using sounds kindly provided by @anmoku, recorded early this year. This one was taken from the fourth jam in the series, recorded 28/01/21 and unusually for us, is relatively calm and peaceful.

Castle In the Air

This song is from the album "The virtues of isolation" by the Canadian ambient|noise|experimental music band CRYSTAL GRUNT. It explores the thematic of isolation and the possible virtues related to. Going through some period of darkness may bring some enlightenment and confusion.

I recently came across a number of "abandoned" recordings on my old macbook. These are tracks or sketches dating back to various periods (from around 2018 to 2020) and they all have piano as their main audio source.
The original recordings (some previously dubbed on tape) were then heavily processed in Ableton Live and recently reworked to make them (more or less) consistent with each other.

The result is in some way a collection of raw sounding sketches which, however, well represent my interest at that time in creating an opus starting only from piano sounds and loops. Only a few processed field recordings have been added (however recorded by acting on the body of the piano) and just a touch of Minibrute on track 2 and Volca FM on track 3.
