Over the last thirteen years, DJ Phil has evolved from a protege and student of the late DJ Rashad to one of the most ambitious core members of Chicago's Teklife collective. 

While he contributed to many iconic releases like 'Double Cup' and produced iconic remixes for Machinedrum or Scratcha DVA, DJ PHIL did not release a lot of solo projects outside of rare EPs for Nightslugs or Ghettophiles + appearances on Moveltraxx' Street Bangers Factory compilations so we are especially thrilled to released his new record. 

'Boarding Pass : Prelude To The Flight' has everything you could dream of from a DJ PHIL EP: epic battle tracks, club ready beats, lush synth and vocals with soul and  jungle influences fusing Chicago's rich history of house music with more modern juke/footwork.

BASSment JAMS S01E00 (THE REBOOT) ft. NECROMANCER
The reboot is an intro to what’s to come for the first session of BASSment JAMS. This episode will consist of a 90min multi-genre all vinyl set from DJ NECROMANCER. Following the set will be a Q & A segment led by questions submitted by listeners and followers of the channel. 

This program’s mission is to create a space for artists to tell their story. The BASSment has been a place for so many artists to feel free to play music they may not normally get to play out. During the interview segment the guest artist will get to talk about where they have come from, things they are working on and where they would like to see themselves going in the future.

Therma is a producer and DJ based out of Minneapolis. Growing up in the 90’s, Hip-Hop and skate videos became the genesis for his connection to music. Since 2008, he has steadily crafted his own take on multiple genres.  Inspired by the sounds of underground Hip-Hop and Dubstep, his style is heady and groove focused. Fusing creative sampling techniques with hardware samplers and modern digital production in Ableton, he weaves smokey chords and samples around crunchy drums and weighty low end. From rapid fire Drum And Bass to mellowed out Lo-Fi, Therma has a deep bag of tricks. He’s not too bad on a set of turntables either. Originally a Hip-Hop DJ for Minneapolis MC’s and bands, he intertwines a sharp turntablist style with silky smooth blends. Merging the style and skill of both crafts together, he pushes all the right buttons.

Under his solo alias, AИTITHESIS, Jack Denney (1/3rd of Ternion Sound) continues his explorations into dark percussive dance music, textural ambient spaces, and various nodes along the Hardcore Continuum.  The project threads a line through the eras of early 90s Jungle, Hardcore, and Gabber; through the 2000s Techstep, Neurofunk, Dark Garage, and Dubstep; and into today’s near genre-less explosion of new synthesis technologies and advancements in timbre and groove focused musics.  This darker side of dance music encapsulates the feelings of dread, malaise, awe, amazement, anxiety, and wonder associated with existing in postmodernity.  All of this is packaged in tightly packed DJ performances meant to offer a place of catharsis, bonding, and expression through dance for the listeners.
