This sweet and lively Canadiana tune follows the early life of my maternal Grandmother who grew up just following the Great Depression in the prairies of Saskatchewan, Canada. The lyrical themes touch on loss, superstition and falling in love.

The Lord Hath Taken Away reminds us that things in life happen that are out of our control. The song ends here but the story does not.

Ramblin’ along with the help of ukulele and simple percussion, the optimistic, summertime vibe of ‘Happy Place’ summons a longing for simplicity and the comforting familiarity of a favourite holiday spot or childhood memory. Influenced by the light, bouncy sounds of artists such as Ed Sheeran or George Ezra, this song captures the contentment of standing still for a moment in this mad world and the beauty of simple pleasures.

Liverpool based duo APRIL MOON met Brighton born Kirzy on the Canary Island while playing music at local bars several years ago and knew that their music styles would be an interesting combination although this is the first time they’ve attempted songwriting together.

Happy Place

Last year we bought a campervan to be able to explore a bit more of the UK as we made our way between gigs and venture a bit further afield. We totally fell in love with the slowed down pace of life and decided to give up our flat and do the van life thing full time. It's been a bit of an adventure and not always glamourous but it is a really beautiful way of life and we have been having so much fun with it!

We wrote Long May We Roam to try and capture some of the beauty, adventure and optimism that we feel like this lifestyle has brought into focus for us. It's got a bit of that traditional country vibe that we love, Jason brought out the banjo but it's kind of it's own thing too.

With an early 70s, alt-country groove, Second Guess features layered guitars and vocal harmonies similar to the Rolling Stone’s Tumbling Dice or Beast of Burden. The introspective song is about selfishness - that uncertainty about trying to find a better path even with the impending arrival of a reckoning hanging over your shoulder

Combining catchy boot-stompin tunes with a lively and fun onstage energy, Jaime April and Jason Moon make up the Liverpool-based duo APRIL MOON. Hailing from the vast prairies of Saskatchewan, Canada, the pair fell in love first with each other and then with the UK while on tour with a previous band, and when the group fell apart they decided to explore the UK’s vibrant music scene on a more permanent basis. 

Described by 'New Sound Generation' as "the most sunshine-filled performance I think I’ve ever seen!", APRIL MOON's live show is a vibrant twangfest with Fleetwood Mac style harmonies, a jangly acoustic guitar, a blistering Telecaster, and a driving beat provided by Jaime's foot stomping on kick drum made from an old suitcase.   

APRIL MOON call their genre Canadiana - think Americana, but with a big helping of northern charm that oozes through their style of storytelling and lyrics, creating a vivid world that covers everything from love, scandal and divorce to the hardships of growing up on the prairies, living in an abandoned brewery and cow autopsies.
