An uptempo bluesy rock tune using a distorted lead guitar juxtaposed against the acoustic rhythm guitar. Pixies were a large influence, from the acoustic vs electric instrumentation to the phrasing of the lead parts in the verses. When it comes to writing a rock solo I always look towards Joey Santiago for balancing vocal-like melodies and the dissonance that often make his solos memorable.

An odd mix of indie in the verses, shoegaze in the chorus and emo/hardcore in the final chorus and the outro. At this point, my band's rhythm guitarist had bought an electric guitar so I decided to start writing songs for electric guitar while maintaining some of the same themes seen in my earlier songs. I decided to focus on the chord voicing in the harmonies as I found this to be the simplest way of turning a generic chord sequence into something more recognisably my own. This is also the point where I started moving away from the high gain distorted guitar tones whenever I needed something to sound louder. The entire song uses only three guitar tones with the final chorus being accentuated by playing harder rather than by turning up the gain.
