Woah @initiationfestival 💥 what a ride and a half that was!! There are so many things to say about my whole experience, but for now all that needs to be shared - and speaks volumes in itself - is my Main Stage set…in all its glory and all its flaws! 

Day 2 of the festival was extremely challenging on so many levels - every turn I took there was another kick in the face or something that went wrong. Which continued through getting ready to play, setting up to play and technical issues 15mins into my set. I was moments from bursting into tears and walking off the stage. But, for the sake of the epic tunes I knew I was about to play, I sucked it up and did the thing. Far from my usual polished performance, this set was raw and hugely emotional. The energy from the dancefloor was like a shoulder to cry on - the support and commitment to my journey was magic! As were the incredible performances by @carlotta_bellydancer and @winnyz which flowed so effortlessly, really bringing my story to life ✨

Special thanks to @jamie.infusion for helping hide the technical issues and giving this mix the little extra love it deserves! And @on_the_d_floor who surprised me after my set by letting me know he had recorded it!!

Welcome to The Home That House Built - a monthly podcast series delving into the raw, wild, heartfelt passion that brings music and art alive in my soul.

This month's mix is about Love - the foundations of a Home. It is a DJ mix, with live and studio sampling using purchased samples chopped up for my own arrangements, as well as nature samples I've recorded and edited - it also features my Clarinet on a beautiful track at close to the 2hr mark... 
I have also dedicated this mix to my boyfriend - my best friend, the emperor to my empress, my beautiful lover, my star - Scotty <3 

Moving forward in the series, I will be challenging myself to incorporate my clarinet more each month (the one track I have included with clarinet this month, was a total last minute ballsy decision - that exceeded my expectations immensely!) - as well as more live and/or studio sampling of my own recorded and edited samples. It is my goal, that these challenges will lead the way to having some sort of production of my own in the mix in the not too distant future ;)

Ok, thats a wrap from me today - my brain is close to mush from all the very lengthy self-taught (trial n error fumbling around) lessons I've immersed myself in to get to today's release! Stay tuned for a track listing, which will be dropped later in the week.
