Set to ignite dance floors and elevate spirits worldwide: "Umoja (Joaquin's Sacred Rhythm Dub)" is New York City house music royalty Joaquin Joe Claussell’s rework of the title track from Italian jazz maestro Nicola Conte’s latest album Umoja.

Claussell’s trademark brand of deep, afrofuturist house combines with the spiritual jazz dance magic of Conte’s original for an extended mix of ecstatic club music, teasing the wider release of Nicola Conte - Umoja (Joaquin Joe Claussell’s Sacred Rhythm Music & Cosmic Arts Dubs): 10 tracks of comprehensive rearrangements - featuring additional percussion, guitars, keyboards, synthesizers and drum programming - whereby Claussell excavates the source music, re-recording many of its parts under the auspices of his Sacred Music & Cosmic Arts banner.

Claussell's collaboration with Nicola Conte and Far Out Recordings helps mark the label’s 30th anniversary, as Claussell joins fellow producers such as Theo Parrish, Ron Trent, Kenny Dope and 4hero in remixing music from the label’s catalogue.

Solid Steel (16th June) This week it's an incredible honour to welcome Afrobeat legend Tony Allen to Solid Steel. His drumming was the driving force behind Fela Kuti’s Africa ’70s band and he also recorded a string of solo albums. His latest release 'A Tribute to Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers' honours another extraordinary drummer and is released on Blue Note. Art Blakey was an idol for Tony Allen and Art Blakey was inspired by trips to West Africa, recording African-inspired jazz LPs in the 50's and 60's. The EP was recorded live with his 8-piece band and is a preview of his forthcoming first album for the classic Blue Note record label. You can hear 2 tracks from the EP in the mix alongside  music from the following artists old and new with words from Tony Allen for each track
