“One of my favorite parts of being on stage is that once I start talking, the audience has no idea what kind of sassiness is gonna come out of my mouth on any given night…and sometimes neither do I,” jokes country music newcomer Apryl Evans.

 

And it’s that exact spitfire sassiness that has set her apart in her musical journey thus far. What those audience members can be certain they will hear, however, is a distinct country rock sound laced with a touch of soul and a hint of an urban edge – and an undeniable, infectious energy is precisely what they will see. 

 

There’s also a guarantee that who you see and hear is exactly who Apryl Evans is – no holds barred. She takes pride in writing songs based on her own life experiences and not keeping any secrets about who she is, which is exactly what has drawn listeners to her music from day one and something she purveys in every song and at every live show.  “I love to take my fans on a musical rollercoaster ride with some unexpected turns in the middle. There are many sides to me and I think every single person in that audience can relate to that.”

 

In the short time since the November, 2012 release of her debut EP, “Things You Left Behind”, which was recorded at the famed Blackbird Studio in Nashville Tennessee, Apryl has performed with and opened for country artists such as Parmalee, Craig Campbell, Frankie Ballard, Jana Kramer and Maggie Rose, amongst others and has been a part of festivals such as the inaugural Red Bank Country Music Festival in Red Bank, NJ. In 2014, she was also named one of 94.7 NASH FM’s Top Three Local Country Bands in the New York City/New Jersey market.

 

In September of 2014, Apryl continued her musical journey with the release of her latest single to country radio, “The Sound of Boots,” which she co-wrote with fellow country artist Jake Arch after a bad late-night, whiskey-fueled run in with an old flame. “This song is an ode to every woman – or man for that matter – who’s been screwed over and had the guts to walk away with their head held high. The Sound of Boots is the sound of reality for the person who missed out on someone awesome.” The song was produced by Larry Beaird of Beaird Music Group in Nashville and has been garnering much attention since its release.
