The Parisian Techno scene has a vast number of players, but none growing exponentially like DJ & producer Nymed. 

Growing up in the seaside town of Dunkirk in Northern France, the artist’s proximity to the Belgian border fueled his love affair for electronic music. He began his own party series, "Conceptual Violence," in bunkers on the Flemish Coast after becoming properly acquainted with the Belgian and Dutch club realms across the border. 

The concept was simple - to reappropriate & transform a former historical warzone into a place of celebration, joy, & love. What initially began as a party series evolved into a podcast, showcasing a wide selection of Techno artists from all over the world. 

Prior to the 2020 pandemic, Nymed relocated to Paris and began producing music and honing in on his DJ craft. Now, he is known as a pillar of the scene. He launched a new event concept, Toyz, in 2021 as a move to revitalize and fill a growing demand for safe party spaces for other like minded, sexually liberated queer ravers.

Nymed’s sound is characterized by a love for old school 90’s techno, with a no frills approach to mixing that sets him apart from his FX laden contemporaries. This revivalist sound has made him an in-demand artist locally at iconic French queer events like Spectrum & Myst, but it also allowed him to play on the international scene in clubs such as Berghain (Berlin) or Paragon Broadway (New York). 

Fluctuating between hypnotic and sensual, his music production work channels his DJing philosophy while incorporating trippy melodies and sexually charged rhythms. 

A chance meeting with fellow artist and label manager False Witness led to a friendship where a mutual respect for each other's creative visions were forged, leading up to Nymed’s debut EP, ‘Vassau’ on E-Missions Recordings in April 2023.

Penelope Florencia Paredes Ibach, aka ZIBACH, Argentinian DJ originally from the Alto Valle de Río Negro and Neuquén, currently residing in Córdoba Capital, where she began her training as a DJ at Academia Groove.

Her genre style is strongly influenced by Techno, both Hypnotic, Hard, Groove, Acid and a mixture of them.

Welcome to our final episode of the year, 2023. Today, we're thrilled to introduce you to an artist who has been shaping the electronic music landscape for nearly two decades. Known by some as Fresh Prince and by others as the darker half of the iconic duo Monochrome, our guest has been a DJ for 15 years. He's a man who loves to explore and experiment, always drawn to the unknown. His journey began with the sounds of Eric Prydz, a producer renowned for his versatility and commercial success. Over the years, he's been deeply inspired by numerous talented artists, including Octo Octa, Spray, Dold, and Pearson Sound.

Storytelling is a key aspect of his performance. It's not just about identifying a great track; it's about knowing the right moment to play it. Understanding the energy of the crowd and being open to exploring new sounds is crucial. For him, setting the tone and energy of the night is a responsibility he takes seriously, and he prides himself on executing it well. One of the most rewarding experiences for him is hearing feedback months later from listeners who loved a particular set

Rekanoize is a ln irish DJ based in Vancouver. He began learning the craft of DJing during lockdown in 2020 with a pair of technics and a crate of 90's techno records. With a taste across many genres such as Minimal House, Hypnotic techno, Hardgroove and Garage, Rekanoize can play a range of styles to suit any party. With 2023 being a successful year of gigs with Jika Jika, FNCTN, Avvit and Disco freqs he hopes to maintain traction for 2024 and grow as a DJ.

Our next entry to the Four Four Local Selection welcomes 'i decided' for the 232nd edition of the series. Specialising in all things loopy and hypnotic techno the mix is carefully crafted from start to finish and is filled with spooky textures, dreary atmospheres and sensual selections.

i decided (Cormac Farley, formerly known as Farlo) is an upcoming producer and DJ from North Dublin. He draws heavy inspiration from the sound of late 90s and early 00s techno while incorporating elements of hypnotic, loopy and dynamic atmospheric sounds akin to soundtracks from the golden age of classic sci-fi and horror films which adds an interesting angle and approach to both his mixes and productions. Following his sophomore release on Tremors Glasgow-based label Oscillator One, he has garnered support for his tracks from artists globally such as Egotot, Takaaki Itoh, Radical Softness, Franz Jäger, Alarico, and more. 

i decided has found themselves part of the Irish label, event and mix series HRLA which has showcased a range of fantastic music through their label releases and DJs through their events and their HRLA selects mix series. They have broadcasted a selection of local and international artists since their inception back in 2022 such as Thelma, XXXX In Stereo, RAAB and more across a variety of mediums.

This entry to the Local Selection is an exceptional showcase of i decided's sound and musical ethos at play, as he continually builds the energy of the recording over the hour with a fine selection of loopy and hypnotic rhythms. The mix displays i decided's ability to emit tension and release throughout the recording resulting in a rich listening experience, especially for those who find themselves listening to techno regularly.
