Fading into White

Eternal Voyage is my attempt to capture that feeling we all know of sitting on a long train ride, headphones on, staring out the window as the world passes by. Fields, trees, cities, people, nature… all blending together while the music carries you somewhere else.  

I’ve done this countless times myself, and I wanted to put that emotion into a song. It’s about that special kind of daydreaming where the music feels like your travel companion.  

It’s also the kind of track you can fall asleep to in the same way I’ve often replayed a song after a journey, lying in bed and drifting off while imagining I was still traveling. That’s what Eternal Voyage is about, the soundtrack to those quiet, endless journeys in our imagination.

A selection of reimagined Above & Beyond hits and catalogue classics, “Acoustic III” will be released on Anjunabeats this summer.

The band have once again enlisted musical director and producer Bob Bradley to arrange and co-produce “Acoustic III”. The album is a subtle departure from the first two albums in this well-loved series. Fans can expect more uptempo arrangements, bold brass instrumentation and just the right amount of funk. In Bradley’s words: “More Quincy Jones and a little less orchestral, with some really intimate moments.”

“Acoustic III” will feature completely new arrangements of some of the biggest hits from Above & Beyond’s #3 Billboard Hot 100 Album “Common Ground”, including Northern Soul, My Own Hymn and Happiness Amplified, plus reinterpretations of 2019 club singles ‘There’s Only You’ and ‘Waltz’.
The album is set for release in summer 2020 on Anjunabeats and will be supported by a tour of some of the most prestigious concert venues in the UK and North America, including London’s Royal Albert Hall and The Alexandra Palace Theatre, New York’s Radio City, The Kennedy Centre in Washington DC, plus the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and Berkeley. The tour culminates with a special performance at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on July 1, accompanied by the Colorado Symphony.
