LAB013 marks the arrival of Core (aka Michael Ashburner) to the Aquatic Lab family. 

True to its heavyweight 180-gram vinyl pressing, LAB013 is built on gargantuan dancefloor movers, and the stark urban realism of Core’s nuanced brand of seismic minimal pressure. The devastating A-side, 'Civil War', is a ruff street-flex of slamming drums and gutter bass, featuring the raw flow of Jamakabi (formerly of Roll Deep fame) The flipside, 'Cyborg', is a pumping techstepper that merges tape-pack acid b-lines with the modern Reece chaos of techno's more recent convergence with UK dubstep. 

Exclusive to the digital release are 'Bassmental' and ' Vital Nerve'; two cuts of bassline-driven halfstep that are guaranteed to smoke up the dance. The digital pack also contains the ‘Civil War VIP’ as well as a dark tribal treatment, courtesy of Shredexx.

Mastered at Berlin powerhouse Dubplates and Mastering, LAB013 has received DJ support from the likes of Youngsta, Distance, J:Kenzo, Biome, Thelem, and Killawatt.

Aquatic Lab is Australia’s first underground bass record label, and is recognised globally as one of the earliest international outposts of the UK dubstep sound.

Aquatic Lab boasts an adventurous back catalogue which includes releases from renowned producers Zed Bias, Truth, Cluekid and Seven. The label’s repertoire also extends to notable appearances by Ben Verse, Moving Ninja, Bardeya, Gantz and Spherix.

Aquatic Lab was also the incubator of experimental composer Paul Jebanesam aka Moving Ninja, who has clocked highly influential releases on Tectonic and Vertical Sound.
