Letting Abigail Go

For this Uni assignment, I was to create 'hold music' with a limited pitch class (certain notes) that could be looped for a held phone call, video game title screen, website etc.

My piece ‘Butterflies Amongst The Ruins’ is the music played during the title card for a video game, more specifically an open-world exploration game or similar, featuring beautiful jungle and forest scenes, with ancient cities and curious creatures for the player to discover.

I loved writing this piece, building on an old idea stored in my voice memos on my phone, to turn it into a dramatic piece evoking battle-field imagery, maintaining interest throughout the repetitive ostinato.

'Samantha' is my first brass quartet and it was a huge learning experience. I loved the end result, with the singular motif developing into a full and complex piece, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Get The Princess - 2023

In 2020 I was chosen as the House Conductor for the annual Loreto Normanhurst Music Festival. This role included choosing a song to fit the year's theme, arranging it for around 130 girls of varying musical experience and teaching it before the final night.

Due to COVID restrictions the event was held virtually, the final performance compiling the individual students' recordings for the end result. I am yet to receive a recording of the performance so here is my digitally created copy.
