Cherry Averette, known creatively as Ara Nightshade, is a singer/songwriter, musician, artist, & more. They can be referred to using any variations of she/they/he. Born on May 28, 2002, in Alabama, USA, Ara began singing at a very early age and it didn’t take long for her to develop a long-term dream of becoming a rock singer. She grew up listening to a lot of classic rock music and was very infatuated with bands such as Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, Aerosmith, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, & more. These days her biggest inspirations are Joan Jett, The Runaways, The Pretty Reckless, Nine Inch Nails, Poppy, Jack Off Jill, Avril Lavigne, & Lana Del Rey. Until she was 22, she found it very difficult to write her own satisfactory song lyrics and only worked on occasional vocal covers. But as she got older and grew into her edgy, horror-themed rock n’ roll cherry bomb aesthetic and found her true identity as a genderfluid person, she found inspiration and became a lot more confident in herself, her abilities, and her appearance. She is currently working on music projects.
