Hey peeps this was an experiment with some more traditional boom bap style music production, which was inspired by many of the old classics from the 90's hip-hop era with a chunky serving of jazz. This was originally just gonna be a few tracks that i was gonna release for Christmas, but after contacting Dusted Wax, they suggested a 5-6 track EP, and I was easily swayed :P.

As well as producing this EP ive also been co-hosting a radio show for about 20 episodes, where we discuss and play a bunch of different music, both old and new, both chill and pumped. You will probably distinctly be able to tell where my influences lie by listening to this. Were gonna start season three mid February so ive put a links below if you wanna have a listen. As well as this ive made a tutorial for making an ambient tune, and hope to make another set of tutorials when i learn some new stuff!

My future projects will consist of some sort of Neuro DNB, followed by some sort of future garage/abstract trap stuff similiar to the sounds of Ivylab/Tsuruda/Herzyloyde. Then at some point im gonna tackle a Jazz EP/LP.

Christmas Trip Hop Mix 2016

This album was a partial endeavour into all branches of trip hop, spanning all of the eras of music. I said in my Hidden Gems Vol.I EP that i would make a jazz EP, but it proved more difficult that once thought! It still happening though; I've just got to get my music theory up to par. I think there also might be a return to Drum & Bass/Electronic genres, in the form two/three different EP's.

In the one year period since the release of Hidden Gems Vol.I, I have also been learning Ableton as well, which has been interesting (Primarily used to be FL only). I think looking at workflow and attempting to refine it is a must for any artist. It brought me to the realization of just how much workflow affects the sound of the output you create. Trying to refine a process while still retaining the exact same sound is a difficult process! :P

The concept behind the EP is multi faceted. Everything from the cover to the names to the audio content inside the tracks themselves tells a story. I've used a lot of layering inside the tracks and have really tried to provide emphasis and tension where i felt necessary to create amazing moments in a track.
