The pressure isn’t from the outside, not from society, not from games of ideology. It’s the body and the mind saying: limit reached.

The sound on Collapse is a recording of that break from the inside. The low end presses the way blood hammers in your ears. The percussion stutters like your hands shaking when you’re trying to keep control and can’t. The high layers hiss like that ring in your head after a week without sleep. It’s not hysteria and it’s not heroism. It’s a clinical record of the moment you snap.

CPTL PNSHMNT - Let It Roll On Tour: Puerto Rico

One of the things I hear most often from new DJ's is 'I need 4 decks'. Do you?  Do you really? Why is that? 

Too many folks in DnB associate more decks with legitimacy while never understanding the basics of 2 channel mixing. 4 deck mixing will not save you if you don't understand simple concepts: progression, flow, and track structure. Those three things can just as easily be done on 2 decks as they can 4, with 4 decks merely giving you increased time to make those decisions and ride blends longer. 

They by no means make you dope. 

Just because you can triple something, doesn't mean you should. Just because you have 4 decks doesn't suddenly make you understand basic concepts that will make it not sound like shit. Merely 2 decks doesn't mean you're hitting every single breakdown and leaving crowds in a perpetual state of rollercoaster hell, never building tension and never having a proper release of it. Those things are active choices you're making because you've not put the time into actually pushing your craft and thinking of how to achieve things. 

Work. Push yourself. Try harder. Do dumb shit and make mistakes. That's how you learn, not magically buying more shit that you don't even understand how to utilize properly.
