It continues to be one of the sparkling features of Coldharbour Recordings, and label boss Markus Schulz presents a Buenos Aires '13 themed portion of content with the 33rd Coldharbour Selections - with all three tracks taken from his recently released city compilation.

Miami duo Grube & Hovsepian can boast an impressive 2013, with an ever increasing gig portfolio and their full on smash Trickster racking plenty of mileage on Beatport's Trance Top 10. Tim and Mike demonstrate their diversity with the beautiful Palermo - a deeper, melodic encounter which many claim to be one of the standout highlights of Buenos Aires '13.

Making their Coldharbour debut are duo Cristopher Vassilakis and Simon Tarr (the latter also known for his work as Arcalis). Both have playlisted regularly on Global DJ Broadcast throughout the year, either collectively or as individuals, and Galea sees their talents harnessed to an appealing effect.

Also making his label debut is Canadian Elias Barouche, better known as Solid Stone. Again a producer noted for his diversity, he turns up the adrenaline meter with Scrambled, with one of those melodies that you'll be stomping along to in no time. Definitely one that will pick up pace on the dancefloor.

In anticipation of Blood Groove & Kikis's forthcoming "Wonderland" artist album, arriving March 25, 2014, on Silk Digital, Silk Music Publishing announces its "Both" remix competition. Veteran and aspiring producers alike will have the chance to remix Blood Groove & Kikis vs. LTN's "Both" and have their remixes released on Silk Digital, Silk's parent label. With its 80th single release arriving in Spring, Silk Digital has released tracks by many of the leading artists in progressive over the past 6 years and has received radio support on the industry's top radio shows, such as: "Group Therapy," "International Departures," "Solaris International," "Cycles Radio," and "Jaytech Music".

Silk Digital Records will be selecting three winners for a special "Both" remixes release on the imprint later this year. We encourage participants to remix in the specific genres of progressive house and progressive breaks — the standard niche of Silk Digital — but we will also consider exceptional entries in trance, deep house, and chillout.


There will be three key phases of the competition:

1. February 15th - March 31st, 2014 - Download phase. Download the remix parts, and get remixing. 
2. February 28th - March 31th, 2014 - Upload/Submission phase. Send your remix by link to max@silk-music.com. The remix parts will still be available to download during this phase.
3. March 31st - April 6th, 2014 - Deliberation phase. Silk management chooses the top remixes.
After a deliberation phase, the winners will be announced on April 7th, 2014, and three winning remixes will be released on Silk Digital Records soon thereafter. 
Silk Digital Records wishes all participants the best of luck!


Competition rules:
1. Download the remix parts of Blood Groove & Kikis vs. LTN's "Both". 
2. Remix the track. All genres mentioned above are welcome, though, progressive house is preferable. Please note: your track does not need to be mastered.
3. Submit your remix as a private SoundCloud link to max@silk-music.com. Make the subject of your email "Silk Digital Remix Contest". Also, we encourage you to include a short bio, with all of your social networking pages.
4. The download phase begins on February 15th, 2014. 
5. The submission phase of the "Both" remix competition starts on February 28th, 2014 and ends on March 31st, 2014. 
6. The winners of the "Both" remix competition will be chosen by Silk's management team by April 6th, 2014. 
7. Silk's management will contact the winners within 2 weeks after they are announced, with info about the release date, WAV specifications, etc.
8. Tracks using uncleared samples from sources outside of the "Both" parts will be disqualified. An "uncleared sample" is a musical work, loop or sample for which you do not own a copyright or is not legally available by a royalty-free sample library.
9. All remixes submitted for this contest become the legal property of Silk Digital Records. Your remix contest submission becomes the legal property of the record label hosting the competition as protection against the release of unauthorized remixes in the form of bootlegs or on other record labels. 
10. All trademarks and logos are protected. All rights of the producer and the owner of the recorded work are reserved. Unauthorized copying, hiring, renting, public performance and broadcasting of this record, remix or remix parts is prohibited. 
11. You may upload your remix to SoundCloud or MySpace and other online sites, but it must be clearly named as a "Silk Digital Remix Competition Entry" eg:

Carving through a genre awash with generic presets and tired grooves, Simon Tarr (Arcalis) continues to flourish into one of the scenes admired fresh-faces. Offering a darker, more atmospheric approach to production, Simon's deep basslines and appreciation for the intricacies of percussion pull you down the rabbit hole to a mesmerising world of sound. 
Hypnotic originals "Horizon" and "Phobia" rear their head in a surge of peak time energy while reworks of FACEPALM’s "Brainwash" and Leolife’s "Control" provide a richer, organic, feel. It's a unique approach that has not gone unnoticed by some of dance music's biggest names as well, with Arcalis productions finding favour with trance heavyweights Kyau & Albert, Roger Shah, Bobina and Markus Schulz to name but a few; the Coldharbour maestro in particular a major inspiration for Simon. 
Never shy to leave the studio and step behind the decks, the Arcalis schedule continues to expand with appearances both home and abroad, having already found his way into the booth of Ibiza's Es Paradis. The future continues to look promising as he steps out from his Arcalis guise, teaming up with Greek producer Christopher Vassilakis for projects under his own name, keeping the intense Tarr sound at its heart. Whether Tarr or Arcalis, Simon is definitely a name to keep an ear on in the future.
