Air Krew trio has released a new track “Types of Crickets” along with a video for it. The crickets from the track's title were recorded by one of the artists at the very beach where the famous napalm scene from “Apocalypse Now” took place. The war there is long over and the nature emerged now contributes to this naturalistic ambient track's mood — one which changes as if according to circadian rhythms. Another force contributing to the composition is Pavel Eremeev of USSSY and Holy Palms who recorded the bass.

The “Types of Crickets” video gives an opportunity to experience a CG virtual nature in all its splendour. It's a 6 minute meditation in a tall pinery on a shore, surrounded by fabulous creatures and mysteries of light and dark — which ends in a cleansing sunrise (and probably starts over again).

My dad is an Iranian in America, born and raised in a
polarized Tehran. My mom belongs to a conservative
family, and grew up in a small, Southern town.
Trapped in a cycle of contradictions and self-negations,
and also free from the trap of a seamless worldview.
There’s tension in the cards I’ve been dealt, and Biaban
is one of the ways I’ve been dealing with it this year.

I’ve been doing a lot of negotiating with myself lately.
New Silk Harp Strings is a set of memories, orchestrated
from samples, loops, beatpacks and pre-revolutionary
45s buried in my basement at home, mixtapes scrawled
in handwritings of long lost friends, myths, fables,
diaspora letters and parables.»
