SoundCloud exclusive! A little experiment created with Beaterator for the Sony PSP.

I applied some light mastering in my DAW but otherwise it is exactly as exported from Beaterator. Most of the sounds are Beaterator presets, some of them with some basic effects applied. Only the bass sound was created from scratch using the built-in soft synth. I didn't want to use any pre-made loops, which resulted in very minimal melodic elements because I found it cumbersome to program MIDI notes with video game controls.

Beaterator supports up to 8 audio tracks. Each track can have up to 2 effects applied to it (compression, distortion, chorus, delay, or EQ). The EQ  has only 3 bands, centered at 80Hz, 2.5kHz, and 8kHz. There is also a universal reverb send. Automation is supported, but the automation points can't be closer than 1 bar apart.

I don't think I'll be doing anything more with Beaterator; I just wanted to try and see what would happen when creating something with such severe limitations.
