Divided By Zero

"A Violent Whisper" is an album 20 years in the making. Hosting the first song I ever wrote ("Humo de Vela" written in 2003) the album has gone through many iterations throughout the years, morphing from an Alternative Metal to a Hardcore to a Metalcore project to its current identity. The album is divided into two parts; the first 5 songs represent the "violent" part, holding the material most influenced by Prog Metal and Djent, whereas the final 5 songs represent the "whisper" side, highlighting the influence set by Ballads and Classical music. Bridging both extremes of our musical inspirations, we consider it a testament that breaks the boundaries of genre or conventional limitations of instrumentation, showcasing that even in a fully acoustic setting, a Metal influence can still shine through and convey the passion infused into each musical piece.

An album that almost didn't see the light of day, it was the untimely passing of my partner Cynthia which motivated the final steps to take and bring this vision to its fullest form, serving both as a dedication and ode to her as well as covering my legacy as a musician for the past 20 years.

Deeply influenced by acts from Tool, Opeth and The Contortionist to Riverside, Katatonia and Porcupine Tree, "A Violent Whisper" covers the range of our sound as a duo and stands as the most symbolic offering of our musical journey to date. We are immensely grateful to be sharing it and hope it touches its listeners beyond the conventional norms of what acoustic music represents.

The Arcane Insignia is an Acoustic Prog Rock band formed in New York City by Lodrö Nyima. The band consists of Cello/Acoustic Percussion/Classical 7 string Guitar & Vocals, influenced by different styles and acts from Tool to steven Wilson to The Contortionist and looks to incorporate different contrasts such as Neo-Classical with Metal while keeping the aesthetic entirely Acoustic.
