After almost a year of perfecting our signature sound, mixing noise rock and synthwave along with other moods, Archie Jones Obscure Overlords was ready to put the lights out on the Non DJ Electronic Showcase 13 - a noise special. Boy did they ask the right people to bring the noise!

Working vigorously over recent months to get the sonic structure in line with Archie's forward thinking vision, we continued adding elements until the sound became so encompassing and epic that it threatened to destroy venues around the country. Introduced new members Ryan, Tom, Dave & Andy, adding vocals, acoustic guitars, bass, and shit load of outboard gear with minimal programming.

Combining moody ambient vibes with deep, dark vocals and warm chugging basslines, Archie and his Obscure Overlords will take you on a deeply introspective journey that culminates in their latest piece "Learning to Love Thy Self and Thy Neighbour Rather than a Life of Misery and Relentless Multiplying Punishment". Created in 4 parts – internal battle, confusion, launch, bliss - that describes the human condition on a visceral level.

Archie Jones Obscure Overlords is a Melbourne based collaborative concept, more guitar focused sonic experiments focusing on signal path manipulation, along with synths, drum machines and loads of effects!
Many members will come & go, one-off collaborations, but the key focus is minimal prep & maximal jam show down, 1 take with no or minimal post production.
