'An Architecture of the Sea' is an ongoing collaborative project associated with the research group of the same name.  This project underpins a series of physical and web-based exhibitions engaging with issues related to the visualisation of the marine environment in differing spatial settings. An underlying premise is that the work is reflective and the result of direct artist experience and observation of the space, often in relation to systemic maritime surveying, sampling and resource exploitation.  

This work by Kerry Hines is from an untitled series-in-progress of poems centred on close looking, which take maritime Wellington as their starting point.
