I have always been fascinated by rain and a wet city scene in Zurich, Switzerland inspired me. It’s incredible how rain affects the view of a landscape; the soft mist just rising in the distance; the entire place suddenly taking on shades of blue and grey; the moving, undefined clouds in the sky. That entire place feels frozen in time, like a photo, a portrait.

A little bit of my new album, out on CD, download and stream on 6 January 2017. 

Like the rest of these albums, Twilight Sessions volume 20 is a collection of live ambient improvisations. I play a few notes in to a lonmg, slowly decaying loop and see where the music takes me.

Semi generative ambient piece created on my Modular System.

Rings and Mangrove are the main melody voices. Plaits provides the chord drone in the background. Picovoice is providing the higher melody that appears every now and then.

Everything is sequenced from Mutable Instruments Marbles and Korg SQ1.

Modulation provided by Intellijel Quadra and Abstract Data Octocontroller.

Tracked to DAW in one take. Reverb, eq and compression added in DAW.
