~Chapter 2: Into the Ogre's Lair~

Our Hero makes his way westward to the mountain ranges of Delthor, under instructions of Byron the Templar to retrieve the Ring of Azuraa from an ancient conjuror who is said to live deep within the mountains.  The mountains are perilous, and with little vegetation and no landmarks, it can become easy for one to lose their way, and stumble into places where they are unwelcome.  Our Hero is being hunted, and for the first time on this quest, he will have to draw his blade...

~Chapter 2 - Into the Ogre's Lair~

~Chapter 3: The Forlorn Conjurer~

After slaying the Ogre, our Hero continues traveling westward through the dark mountainous region of Delthor. He seeks the one known as the Forlorn Conjurer, a powerful sorcerer whose true name has been forgotten by time. It is said he has spent the last 200 years living in solitude, lamenting the loss of his beloved, Lady Kathryn, who was said to have been destroyed when the conjurer lost control of a dark, forbidden magic. Now, damned to live his remaining days a prisoner of his guilt. It is said the conjurer possesses the Ring of Azuraa, a powerful relic that is said to be the key to taking back the Kingdom and returning peace to the land. And so, he continues his decent to the dwelling of the conjurer hidden deep within the mountains, where he seeks the answers as to what must be done...

~Chapter 3 - The Forlorn Conjurer~

~Chapter 4 - The Dwarven Mines~

The Conjurer, having forseen the arrival of our Hero, was prepared to hand over the Ring of Azuraa, not giving away all of its secrets, but explaining that its magic cannot be brought out on its own. Another relic is necessary to activate the magic of the dark blue ring; its location and form unknown. After their meeting, our Hero continued his journey westward through the mountains. As night fell, he once again found himself lost on the endless rocky terrain. He realized there was not much more he could do in the cold darkness, and he began to set up camp for the night.
Before he was even able to build a fire, he heard a loud voice behind him. "WHO GOES THERE?!" Startled, our Hero turns to face the owner of the tough, but frightened voice. Out from the shadows stood a man of no more than four and a half feet, fully armored and with a majestic, viking-like beard. After distilling any hostilty, the dwarven man introduced himself as Grungni. How lucky our Hero was, for Grungni was out hunting when he heard noises from around the rocky bend. Normally, this dwarven warrior doesn't bestow a kind hand to those not of his kind, but once revealed our Hero was of the Tenkara, whose quest would lead him to liberate Delthor and repel the beasts who have appeared to wreak havoc on the dwarven city, he was well met with utmost regard. Grungni led our hero to the entrance of the dwarven mines, a labyrinth designed to deter enemies, ultimately leading to the Great Dwarven City. 
After two hours of perilous travel, our Hero, guided by Grungni, arrived at the Great City. He was given an audience with the Great Dwarven Leader, and after receiving his blessing was given a hearty meal and a place to lay his head for the night. At sunrise, our Hero was awakened by Grungni, who explained that the Great Dwarven Leader had assigned him to guide him through the other side of the mountains, leading him to a dark forest said to contain a cursed swamp in its depths. And so our Hero, guided by Grungni, once again entered the dwarven mines. Only this time they're not alone, and they must join forces to fight their way through the beasts who also travel the mines, heading towards the city.

~Chapter 4 - The Dwarven Mines

~Chapter 6 - Under the Delthoran Sun~

     Desperate to leave the cursed remnants of the swamp behind, our Hero travels nonstop through the night in an effort to breach the dark woods before sunrise.  After 5 hours of traveling, the woods began to gradually become less dense and a clearing could be made out ahead.  Upon reaching the clearing beyond the swamp, the elevation became steeper and the sun began to rise over the horizon.    From the highest point of the clearing, a 40 mile stretch of desert is revealed, a two day journey that even one of the Tenkara would have difficulty surviving...
     Our Hero sets out across the desert with a full canteen of water, pacing himself to cover some serious ground, but as to not overexert himself under the sun's deadly heat. Sore and weary, our Hero makes it through the first full day of travels and sets up a camp for the night, unbeknownst of the impending dangers awaiting him in the night.  
     Almost asleep, our Hero finds himself completely surrounded by the armed forces of Plague and Shinryu, a caravan of at least 8 wagons pulled by horses, and at least 50 troops consisting of men and other humanoid beasts armed with swords.  Unable to fight back in his condition, Plague's troops were easily able to overpower our Hero, and he his then chained up and tossed into the back of one of the wagons.  There was no miracle this time.  No magic from the ring. Is the end of our Hero, the last hope of Delthor?

~Chapter 6 - Under The Delthoran Sun~

~Chapter 7 - The Rescue~

Bound in shackles and surrounded by darkness, our Hero is being held prisoner in a covered wagon, a small unit of a caravan led by Plague's forces. Their orders: to bring our Hero to Plague and Shinryu alive. Disarmed and unable to call forth any more power from the Ring of Azuraa, he sits helpless awaiting his fate and the fate of all of Delthor.
After another day's travel, the caravan finally makes its way out of the desert, and into a deciduous forest. The change of terrain is made apparent to our Hero through each bump felt from the wagon's wheels passing over a more complex ground.
The sun has set. A lieutenant of Plague's forces sits at the front of the caravan, leading the group through the forest, a week's travel away from Plague's base. The calming sound of cicadas in the trees quelled the lieutenant's anxiety from being in charge of such a dangerous mission. He knew that if he were to successfully deliver our hero, there would be a great award awaiting him back at camp, possibly a promotion too. And just like that, the cicadas went silent. The lieutenant's head lay on the ground next to his twitching body. His expression still that of a man soothed by the sounds of the cicadas in the trees. The forest was no longer silent.
A large band of humanoid warriors emerged from the shadows. One by one, each wagon was raided, and it's occupants slaughtered, and the wagon set aflame. Until one particular wagon was discovered. 
Our Hero had recognized the language of the outside attackers, but after they boarded his wagon and he caught a glimpse of their armor, he knew for sure it had been the Elvenkind, a race that had once existed in peace with the Tenkara of the past. After freeing our Hero from his shackles, a large Elven man grabs our Hero and brings him outside, before setting the wagon aflame. Two of the other Elvenkind help the larger one grab our Hero and mount him on horseback. The other horses move aside as another of the Elvenkind in extravagant armor approaches our Hero. "We have forseen your arrival and your destiny. You must come with us now to the Elven city of Rarenlond, it is critical to fulfilling your purpose."
And so our Hero, having been rescued by the Elvenkind, rode of with their band towards the city of Rarenlond.

~Chapter 8 - Rarenlond: The Elven City~

     After 2 long days of travel, Rarenlond could be seen from a distance. An ancient city illuminated by magic ascending from beyond the trees, it's vibrance mesmerizing to all who first gaze upon it, and even to some who once again set eyes upon it.  Our hero and the Elven band cross the plain, and through a magic seal broken by the extravagantly armored Elf, enter Rarenlond.
     "I am Ailas," said the Elf. "We've been expecting the Tenkara for some time now.  Although it was foolish for you to have been captured.  You're lucky we were able to find you when we did.  Delthor would have met its end, undoubtedly. Follow us, I will take you to our leader Eldrin.  He will guide you as to what must be done."  And so our hero follows Ailas through the glamorous and incredible city, and in to a large tower built of what appeared to be brilliant crystals trimmed with gold.
    After climbing a set of wide, equally brilliant stairs, Ailas and our Hero enter the throne room of Eldrid, the Elven King of Rarenlond.  
"Tenkara, our meeting is not coincidence.  You have been brought here for a reason.  We know you have been sent by Byron to the west to face Plague and Shinryu.  But Shinryu is not of this world, and cannot be destroyed with mortal weapons."  One of Eldrid's subservients walks in, carrying a long, thin transparent case, also lined in gold, and an item could be seen inside, wrapped in cloth and tied shut with rope.
"You will need this to destroy Shinryu. Open it."
Our Hero unclasps the casing, unties and slips the rope off of the cloth, and then removes the weapon from its wrapping.  A brilliant steel blade is revealed, attached to a beautiful red handle made of some sort of precious metal, with a  beautiful golden pattern wrapped around it.  In the middle of the handle was an embedding, suggesting that another piece, perhaps a stone, once rested in its place.
"This is the Crimson Lhang. An ancient Elven blade enchanted by the Tenkara of old, able to vanquish even those of whose physical form does not exist of this world.  While it is a powerful weapon, its magic alone is not enough to defeat a being as powerful as Shinryu.  Only the one forseen by us can bring out the potential of the Crimson Lhang's power."
Our hero humbly accepts the weapon and replaces the sword at his side with his newly acquired blade.
"You may stay here for the evening and rest, but you must head out at the first sunlight.  There is not much more time.  The Western Resistance has taken heavy casualties.  We don't know how much longer they can hold up.  You must reach them before it is too late."
After a night's rest, our Hero exits Rarenlord, and heads west towards the Resistance camp...

     And so our Hero continues his quest westward to rendezvous with the resistance camp, having just stayed in the Elven city of Rarenlond and receiving his new blade, the ultimate end to Shinryu and Plague's tyranny. 
     After making his way through the woods, our Hero reaches a clearing.  With only a few miles stretch to resistance camp, what would be a simple trek was complicated by a camp of at least 1000 of Plague's monstrous soldiers.  Trying to cross through alone would mean certain death to our Hero.  He was going to have to find another way around.
    He traveled about 2 miles north along the outer edges of this clearing, looking for a way through without being noticed. the ground became steeper as he descended a hill leading down towards a stone path.  As he scaled the edges of this path, our Hero finds a cave along the rock path.  This could be exactly what he needed.
    Armed with his new blade, our hero enters the cave, and slowly descended into a dark labyrinth, dangerous caverns that would take him underneath Plague's camp unnoticed. But what creatures and dangerous may he encounter in this dark dungeon?

~Chapter 10 - Destiny March~

     After fighting his way through miles of darkness, our Hero emerges from the underground cavern, his eyes squinting as he adjusted to the sun after hours without light.  As he had hoped, it seemed that taking the route through the cavern had proven successful in evading Plague's forces.  Out to the west, he could see a thin cloud of smoke rise in to the sky, a sign of hope that the soldiers at the resistance camp were still alive and well.  Judging by the distance of the smoke, the camp appeared to be at least 5 miles out, so our Hero begins his final trek in hopes of making it before nightfall.
      As the sun began to descend towards the edge of Delthor, our Hero carefully approaches the resistance camp.  The camp was enormous; torch-lit with large canvas tents lined up in rows as far as one could see in that light.  As our Hero walked in to the camp, he could hear the voices of surprised soldiers talking amongst themselves. "It's the Tenkara! It's the Tenkara!" "He's come to our aid!"  "He will stop Plague and Shinryu!" Suddenly, as if the soldiers were parted like the sea, a large but beautiful woman in extravagant armor passed through them.
"Are you the Tenkara sent by Byron?"
"Yes, I am. I answer to the call of the people of Delthor."
"Thank the heavens.  We were beginning to think that you would not make it alone through such a long and perilous journey.  Some believed you were not coming at all.  Others believed you were but a myth. A legend.  I am Linea, General of the Delthoran resistance.  Come with we, we shall make sure you are well taken care of."
     That night the soldiers rejoiced, and a large feast was prepared to celebrate the coming of the Tenkara warrior.  After being properly fed and partaking in some drink, our Hero was taken to bath and given fresh garments to sleep in as well as for the upcoming battle.  Our Hero and his new allies finally laid their heads to rest as the last fires of the torches burned out. 
     At sunrise, with only 3 days to prepare for the deciding battle, our Hero along with Linea's Captains convened at the General's tent.  The Tenkara shared the story of his journeys, and spoke of the Ring of Azuura and the Crimson Lhang and their ability to stop Plague and Shinryu.  After a few hours of storytelling, General Linea, her captains, and the Tenkara, began to strategize over a map of Western Delthor.  This very battle could decide the future of Delthor, and with just 3 days to prepare before Plague's army begins their march west, no mistakes could be afforded...

3 Days Later...

     The migically animated army of Plague, led by Shinryu, has begun their march westward at the sign of the first sunlight.  Ready for the final battle, the Resistance army led by General Linea, along with our Hero, began their march eastward, as ready as they could be to meet Plague's army and face their destiny...

~Chapter 12 - Final Showdown~
Giving our hero no time to think or react, Shinryu charges towards our Hero and thrusts forth his blade.  The Tenkara parried with lightning speed and accuracy and then rolls to the left.  Surrounded by war and fire and with the scent of death in the air, our Hero launches a counter attack.  Quick and intelligent, Shinryu blocks every move. 
Using his smaller size to his advantage, our Hero rolls under the mighty swing of Shinryu's blade, then swing his blade back handed with full force, making direct contact with Shinryu's neck. To his shock, the blade did not even penetrate the dragon warrior's scaley hide. Not so much as a scratch.  With a grin, Shinryu forcefully kicks our Hero, knocking him to ground.
Bewildered, our Hero lay on the ground looking up at the beast standing before him.  Thoughts raced through his mind.  What of the Crimson Lhang? And the Ring of Azuraa? What was the purpose of this entire quest and retrieving the relics? He glanced down to notice that both the sword in his right hand and the ring on his left hand had a very faint aura around them.  He felt a high pitched ringing in his ear, and then everything went black.
The sounds of the battle around him were muffled in his head, as if he was underwater. Through the blackness, a light formed in the distance.  Our hero stood up and walked towards the light.  As he approached the source of the light, a translucent image of the Conjurer from the mountains appeared before him.  With no words spoken, the Conjurer displayed an image of the Crimson Lhang floating midair.  It was surrounded by a brilliant red aura, with a glowing blue gem embedded into the handle.  The images of the conjurer and the sword faded, and the high pitched ringing returned to our Hero's ears.  The light he was surrounded in slowly faded back in to the scene of the battle being fought, and our Hero found himself on the ground where Shinryu had left him.  Thanks to the aid of the Conjurer, he knew now what must be done.
The Tenkara rose to his feet, staring down the beast in front of him.  He took off the Ring of Azuraa from his left hand, and placed it into the embedding in the blades handle, then twisted it to the right locking it in place.  The gem of the ring began to glow a deep blue, and the Crimson Lhang, now restored to its true form, cast off an epic red glow.
He rushed out on the offensive, and the Tenkara and Shinryu traded strikes. The blows struck the beast harder this time, and was visibly struggling to keep up. Our Hero found his chance with an opening Shinryu had careless left to him, and put all of his might into a blow directly to Shinryu's chest.  From the wound of the magical beast, bright light shot up towards the sky. The ground below the battlefield began to shake.  Bright lights began to appear all over the battlefield.  Every foe created from the dark magic of Plague began to emit this light and then disintegrate into the air.  Shinryu's body slowly began to break down, the pieces turning to ash and disappearing in to the wind.  The Battle had been won, and even though Plague was nowhere to be found, he no longer had enough power to become a threat for many years to come.  The resistance troops rounded up their survivors, and they began their march back to the Delthor Castle.  Delthor was once again under the power of its citizen, and peace was restored for many years to come .

~Chapter 12 - Final Showdown~

     Across a river and onto a great plain, the resistance forces had finally come face to face with Plague's dark army.  The army was grotesque. Reanimated corpses in battle armor armed with swords and pikes awaited on the front lines.  Beasts who stood like men were equally armed and among their ranks.  Behind the field of wretched warriors stood Shinryu, a 7ft tall dragon humanoid. His body was adorned with the finest of Plague's armor, and a giant scimitar was held by his right claw. His two wings were gently folded behind his back.  Large boney spikes jutted from his shoulders and elbows and 2 large horns adorned the sides of his head.  The resistance stood in awe and horror, as they had never seen anything like this before or faced an evil magic of this caliber.  
     General Linea shouted for the troops to assemble in ranks, her voice breaking the frightened trance of her men.  They lined up, their eyes facing the enemy ahead of them.  On command they drew their swords, frightened of their foe.  Knowing what was at stake, they still stood bravely, prepared to give their lives for the very future of Delthor.  With the sound of a horn and the cries of both Linea and Shinryu, the armies cried out and began their charge towards each other, the sounds of steel against steel denoting the beginning of battle.
     Within minutes, the plains were covered in blood, and the ashes of the wicked army flowed through the air.  The dark army's beasts may have been larger in size and stronger, but alas, they were slow and dumb.  General Linea sent out her cavalry captains to lead their units out on horseback one by one, sending them in different directions as to hit Plague's army from the sides. One by one, the cut through Plague's forces, turning their bodies to ash as they sliced through their reanimated flesh.  Shinryu then orders a round of fire from his archer and spearmen, attempting to maintain control on the battlefield.  While a handful of cavalrymen successfully evaded the volley, the rest were hit by the spears and arrows and thrown from their horses.  The resistance forces still maintained the upper hand in this battle.  They had the power of numbers on their side.
     Or so they thought.  Just when it had appeared that the resistance would be able to overcome Plague's army, the resistance stood dead in their tracks as they heard the wretched cries of the dark army behind them.  They had been flanked!  Plague had anticipated the resistance formation on this battlefield, and had actually sent out half of his army a day ahead of the rest to get in position.  The dark army charged in, pinning the resistance army between them, the river, and the other half of the dark army.  Regardless of their speed, their sheer number and power was enough to overwhelm what remained of the resistance.  The tides of battle had turned, and things looked bleak as the resistance became as lambs to the slaughter.  But then, there was this sound...
     The entire battlefield stood silent in place.  A low pitched droning could be heard as the ground began to tremble.  The sound appeared to be coming from the east, as everyone's head turned to face the hills in the distance.  From 3 different directions came 3 different armies, one of the Dwarves, one of the Elvenkind lead by Ailas, and the other, a small force consisting of the remaining resistance of Prisma lead by none other than Byron the Templar.   The armies charged full force down the hills and on to the plains of battle, prepared to unite as one for the future of Delthor.
Meanwhile, our Hero, in the midst in battle, rises from the ground to see a dark silhouette behind the ash and dust in the air in front of them.  The dust clears to reveal Shinryu glaring menacingly at the Tenkara, weapon drawn. Standing his ground, our hero draws the Crimson Lhang, prepared for the final showdown against Plague's ultimate evil.
