My first attempt at a video game remix. The Phantasy Star universe has always been close to my heart. 

As of this writing, I am still in the process of composing The Fall of Maxa which will be the sequel to The Rise of Arcticus.

Its done. This is the first of three musical narratives that I intend to compose. This has been a labour of love, I hope you all enjoy it as much as I enjoyed composing it. 

This is actually the second part of a trilogy of expansive, orchestral pieces that I am working on. I have started mapping out the next piece as of now. Although for the time being, I am in the process of producing a music video to go with this. 

The next two pieces that I intend to compose are The Rise of Arcticus and The Legacy of Voss. 

The Fall Of Maxa: A Musical Narrative

Since I am producing a trilogy of musical narratives, I am redoing an older work. This piece is chronologically (at least story wise) first where as The Fall of Maxa would come second. This piece (when finished) will have more elements of polyphony than The Fall of Maxa (which focused more on harmonic structure).

Conclusion

My first attempt at producing a music that is modular in construction. What I mean by this is each eight bars are interchangeable anywhere within the piece. The premise is based on Mozart's musical dice game.

The Rise Of Arcticus: A Musical Narrative

This is a piece that I did for a indie film. Unfortunately, the piece did not suite the film. Fortunately for me, the director allowed me to keep it. I am not sure what to do with this piece as of yet.

This is part of my upcoming album Nascent which should be ready to release sometime next year. Vitae is probably one of the more somber tracks on the album. Eventually I will have this recorded properly as it is within my resources to do so. 

I figured I would upload the unprocessed version as part of a teaser and to announce my first album. I hope you enjoy.

Vitae Part I

Archons of sanctuary is an art music project headed by Joshua Hickman. The goal of AoS is to explore different themes and ideas all through music and sound. Due to the nature of the project, AoS does not conform to a specific genre, instead the genre is chosen that best reflects the idea/theme that is being explored. 

As a musical art project, AoS incorporates different modes of listening, with works being planned that involves music albums, art DVD's and installations/performances. Most of AoS's work can be found on its respective artistic social media outlets such as BandCamp, YouTube/Vimeo, SoundCloud etc. 

Each project, being an idea/theme in origin will also have a blog post or several explaining what the goal of the project is. Due to the multifaceted nature of these projects, AoS is open to collaborations and collaborators, although the end product will be an AoS property. See the AoS website for details on collaboration.
