The Cover image is of the Holocaust Memorial in Berlin, Germany.  Although I composed this with my own fading memories in mind, I think it is just as appropriate for the many events in our recent human history we should try not to forget. Even though they may be fading for some of us.
That goes for both the good and the bad.

Cosmic Sails Drifting in a Solar Wind is the full title of this piece. I have re-mastered it and shortened the title. :-)
The inspiration for this piece came from hearing a loose sail flapping in the wind on a yacht in the local lakeside harbour.

 A week or so ago I bought a Virtual Instrument called Small String Gestures, from the Crow Hill Music Company, and added them.
I think they give the piece a bit more depth.

An improvisation around a minor scale with some Eastern European and Slavic influences.

Accidental Memories

An ambient piece depicting a close encounter. When something not seen but felt, is getting closer but then passes you by. As it fades away you are not sure whether or not you were in danger. Only that whatever it was, it was massive. Like a Blue Whale passing under a rowing boat.

A Close Encounter 3

This began as an improvisation on piano to which I later added some strings using Crow Hill's Small String Gestures plug-in. The idea came from a restless night I had and a vague dream that included the sound of a  piano. A piano being played in a cavern.

I composed this to help comfort me and get me through a sad time. I hope it will help others too.

I think of this piece as the kind of music you can close your eyes to and just drift off into your own imagination.

Many years ago, I spent three winter months, 200km inside the Arctic Circle, in a small village in Finnish Lapland.
I think I heard the Northern Lights sing on more than one occasion. But then again, it could have been the vodka! ;-)
