Time Dey Go marks the debut release of L¥O, reimagining one of Africa’s most powerful protest anthems: Sorrow, Tears & Blood by Fela Kuti.

Originally written after the 1976 Soweto Uprising, Fela’s anthem stood against apartheid oppression. Today, L¥O brings that spirit into the 21st century — layering Fela’s defiant voice with hypnotic rhythms, breakbeat grooves, and cinematic piano. The result is both a respectful tribute and a bold, modern reimagining — a dialogue between past and present.

Time Dey Go is a call to remembrance and resilience, keeping alive Fela’s timeless message against injustice while reshaping it for global dancefloors.

“Bite Your Lip” reimagines Curtis Mayfield’s timeless classic “Move On Up” for the 21st century, transforming its spirit of resilience into a powerful club anthem with a modern, driving edge.

Move On Up is fundamentally about hope, perseverance, and self-belief. Written during a time when Black empowerment and social progress were central themes in American culture, its lyrics encourage people to rise above struggle and keep pushing forward:

“Move on up, toward your destination / though you may find from time to time,
complication.”
