Club Designs, the electro-inspired record label, proudly announces it’s 10th release, a 3 track EP, CDMUSIC010, written and produced by Ardalan & Farsight. The release also includes a huge remix by Vancouver’s esteemed mainstay, Max Ulis.

Ardalan and Farsight are both extremely accomplished musicians in their own right. Peruvian-American Farsight has had a string of recent releases on labels like Scuffed, Cloudcore and most recently, Rinse FM’s own label. He also recently delivered a top notch set for Boiler Room, including the first play of Cerebral Peanut. Iranian-born Ardalan has been spreading his nascent party brand “Ardy Party”, all over North America while maintaining a dynamic range in styles from releases on Pets Recordings, Toy Tonics, and Dirtybird and more “Disco-Centric” projects such as Escapade and Diablo Discobar.

The two of them have joined forces to deliver a collaborative release that exemplifies the label’s commitment to the reimagination of the classic Electro sound. This milestone release showcases the unique blend of styles that have become synonymous with Club Designs, combining classic electro drums, weird and hypnotic melodies, and a funky and futuristic sonic palette that engages listeners from start to finish.

Club Designs alumni and Slab Events founder Max Ulis is already known for his musical chops with releases on Sloth Boogie, Pacific Rhythm, and most recently, a vinyl release on Vrnt. Ulis flips the original track on its head, and re-engineers it as a late night shoulder roller. Perfect for that 4am warehouse set.

Club Designs’ 10th release stands as a testament to the label’s dedication to fostering innovative talent and pushing the boundaries of electro-inspired music. As the label continues to make waves in the industry, this release serves as a milestone, celebrating all we have accomplished for far. 2024 is set to be a big year for the label, with a number of solo EPs lined up, as well as the next installment in their beloved VA series.

Made this edit right before my set at the legendary Trade during Miami Music Week 2016. A sleepless, euphoric weekend fueled by dance, sweat, and pure chaos. Inspired by the neon-soaked energy of Vice City and the timeless funk of Rick James & the Mary Jane Girls, I wanted to teleport that heat back to the dance floor. Miami was on fire, and this was my love letter to it.

Introducing the dirtybird players compilation, the follow-up to last years "Hatched" comp which was picked as the compilation of the year in DJ mag. It's 14 original tracks split into two releases and featuring up-and-comers and old schoolers on the label. The musical direction of dirtybird is always evolving but that sense of good times is always there in the background, keeping you smiling and dancing in your house parties, giant clubs and car stereos around the world.

Part one of the players comp is totally stacked with killer trax from veteran db artists Justin Martin & Ardalan, Kill Frenzy & Nick Monaco, Munnibrotherz, and J. Phlip. In addition some newer acts like Shadow Child, Nick Olivetti, & Supatrol all deliver monster tunes I really love as well.

Enamored first by traditional Iranian music and classic jazz and rock, Ardalan’s taste began to transform with his childhood years spent moving back and forth from Iran and California. With each intercontinental return, Ardalan grew his treasure trove of mixtapes filled with rare musical gems like gangsta rap, Italo disco, and movie and video game soundtracks–the best of the West.
Ardalan became a regular of the underground scene in the Bay Area, absorbing the sounds of house and techno from the likes of Solar and Galen at the legendary Sunset Sound System parties, and it wasn’t long before he was hooked. Full of his signature charm, spark of energy, and an insatiable curiosity for left-of-center music, soon he found his way to a fateful BBQ in San Francisco, a legendary party that is largely known as the origin story lore of the Dirtybird crew. Immediately, the crew took to young Ardy like family.
