A mix dedicated to the work of my friend, dj and producer James Reid. This mix involves his records and loads of other good ones. I'll spare you the history lesson, suffice to say he is a long time friend of mine and is at the cutting edge of Minimal, deep and tech house music. It was pleasure to mix his records amongst those at his level.

Thanks to the guys for giving me the opportunity to contribute to the excellent Back ToThe Beach podcast series, I’ve listened to them all and Wow! tough acts to follow, I feel privileged to be amongst them all.

I've known Leo since we were kids, he's from my town. From the kid in my town to successful dj, producer, promoter and a very important and well respected face and cog in the wheel of the London and UK House Music Scene.

Area 32 051 Dave Johnson 2hr Mix

Since we lost the legend and icon dj/producer Andrew Weatherall I decided to explore his music a bit as I should have known more than I did.
I always site one of Andrew's sets at Sankey's in Manchester as one of the best dj performances I've ever seen and I've seen a few! 
He told a story with house music, a journey so I've tried to mix this tribute to him in that journey style, more by careful track selection than eq as the records are so beautifully twisted with lovely long intros and outros enabling the style of mixing I heard Mr Weatherall perfect from day dot.
