Bordello Radio episode 1 is here. We kick off the the series with a mix by Peet Need aka Peter Nederpelt; italo disco connoisseur from the Westland area, The Netherlands. A true experienced DJ who often played in the notorious Marathon club in The Hague where italo gain popularity in the mighty 80's. Beside DJing Peter is also a talented producer. His next release will be a contribution to the forthcoming Riviera Disco compilation on Bordello A Parigi. This mix was made on request from the legandary Danish DJ Kjeld Tolstrup (R.I.P.) He worked at the Danish National Radio back in 2008 and wanted a wider audience to discover and learn about italo disco. I followed his request and made this italo tribute mix to honor the legendary italo artists and to share my italo passion to the new generation of today. This mix included most of my personal italo top favorits – no obscure records this time. So this mix represent a good example of the early italo sound which got me into italo back in the early 80s. It was played several times at the Danish National Radio which means that at least 500.000 listeners got this ultimate introduction to italo disco!

We have invited an artist who we have been waiting for for a long time. She is KATMANDÜ aka Katharina Grosse @dj_katmandu grown up in Germany but based in Barcelona.

Today I do not risk saying that KATMANDÜ for my taste is one of the best DJs of Italo disco / Disco / Electro of the local scene in Barcelona ….and Europe.
If you listen to this mix you will realize that its harmonies and its rhythm changes are very good, apart from the transitions there is no color ... it is clear that it is an experienced DJ. She is part of the Duo Magic Tundra in which they have played in many important parties such as Soundeat, Pulpada Electronica, Freedonia, La Terraza etc. besides having a program on Radio C / C. She is a very nice and very beautiful girl who has been supporting Italo disco artists for a long time, so being close to the best ... you can also see the influence and good taste she has. I am very proud to have in my city a girl who knows so much about Italo, since there are very few, so she has all my support in the industry.
Many of the songs that I listen to i have no idea where she got them but believe me that it is a brutal digger ... a real good selector.
Believe me ... she is the best.
