Sonic Safari continues its mission of global groove exploration with its seventh release, the "Silk Road EP", a brilliant collaboration between Kanaa Knight and rBert.

Teaming up for the first time, the pair deliver a stunning two-tracker that journeys deep into the heart of ancient trade routes, merging history and mysticism through ethno-tinged organic house.

Opening with the title track "Silk Road", the duo create a soundscape steeped in dusty caravan trails and twilight bazaars. Rolling percussion lays the foundation, while hypnotic melodies and intricate string textures weave like merchants through a crowded souk. Ethereal pads, subtle flutes, and distant vocal murmurs echo like stories passed from traveller to traveller, evoking a profound sense of groove and mystery.

On the flip, "Letters From Samarkand" dives even further into introspective territory. Anchored by a minimalist groove and a percussive shuffle, this piece drips with atmosphere. Vocal chants float in and out like forgotten prayers, while airy pads and celestial chords shimmer across the mix.

A blended and unique cultural background was not the only result of this life and art experience. Finally, Awka found the means to reach out to others and to get his voice heard. It was clear the words were and couldn’t be enough as what was there to be said couldn’t be understood, but only felt.

Awka’s purpose is now fulfilled through his tracks and productions. On a new phase, his ways of connection are being reproduced by exponential labels such as Akbal Music, Lump Records, Pipe & Pochet, Seven Villas e Warung Recordings. Not to mention his 2 reinterpretations on the english band “Elder Island” tracks, which together sum up to 500 thousand plays on spotify.
