Areng grew up in a rural environment, surrounded by local storytellers and musicians who helped nurture his passion for music and writing.

After completing his primary and secondary education, Areng decided to pursue higher education at the University of Amsterdam, where he obtained a Master's degree in Mathematics. During his time , he began to frequent local electronic music clubs and became increasingly interested in music production.

Areng started performing as a DJ in radio, where he quickly gained a solid reputation for his unique style of mixing elements of electronic music with traditional African rhythms. He also started writing his own music and performing live at small music festivals.

After working as a journalist for a local cultural media , Areng decided to devote himself entirely to his musical career. 

His work is praised for its sensitivity and commitment to free speech and cultural diversity. His music is often described as a unique fusion of contemporary electronic sounds with traditional elements.
