About this journey:
In the past 1.5 years, time passes differently than before. Slower and faster at the same time. No one was really prepared for this form of a global pandemic, a global crisis. It’s a long and tough wait, sometimes hoping and fearing. Existences are threatened directly or indirectly. For me, it also shows how little capacity the global North has in dealing with existential crises. Norms and moral boundaries are shifting, revealing all their ambiguity and hypocrisy. Many people in the global South are still waiting for vaccines, and here millions are not getting vaccinated out of irrational fears and assumptions. Terms like dictatorship are grossly distorted. Freedom is demanded, but it means selfishness, lack of empathy, bossiness and malice. There’s a loud and aggressive, hyperpivileged minority that screams the loudest. But people die in silence. A simple and frightening logic.  It is a matter of time. It is about patience. It's about courage. About renunciation. About each and every one. What exactly music and art can achieve in this disturbing time, we all define.
