This album was born from the desire to combine instruments associated with meditation with techno, because these types of music share a form of transcendence. Along the way, there was a shift, but most of the tracks retain a trace of this fusion as a pulse.

The singing bowls are the main instruments, creating metallic textures throughout the album, accompanied by electro and homemade percussion: tin cans, PET bottles, etc. It occurred to me that techno is truly linked to heartbeats, to impulses, and that there's something hypnotic about the repetition of beats. The bowls and the tongue drums produce sounds so captivating and anchored in the unconscious that it's difficult to extricate them from their crates as meditative, even "exotic" instruments. That's why I sometimes had fun hammering home the point. In any case, it's a celebration of the joy of living and creating.

Around the piano composition, I recorded clarinet, percussions and sounds to bring some extra-life and also asked my friend @plex-auchta to play drums. He did an excellent job! I just found the file just recently on my old backup. All my sounds were recorded with my old Zoom H2 recorder, so it's quite noisy. Also, I did an automatic mastering because I'm incredibly too lazy to do so correctly. I should record in more decent way. We can say that was a mockup. Hope you can enjoy it. This little track is the introduction of "The Open Path", a serie of piano tracks I composed and recorded like 8-9 years ago. I release it only now for the first time. I added a field recording of blackbirds singings because to me, this music is linked to the spring, when everything slowly awakes after a cold winter, bringing to us fresh and positive energies. This music is connected to the pine trunks. All began from the recording of their crackling branches, swaying by the wind. That was peaceful, the wind, the branches... Then, I played keyboard, clarinet, recorder and xylophone and added various textures. It's like an humble offering to the peaceful nature. THIS IS A WOODEN TRACK! I hope you like wood! It's 3:21am. Happy happy

This music goes with the 3rd chapter of a tale I'm writing and illustrating. I just published it here: https://ariad-music.com/textes/chapitre-3-guruguss/ It is in french, but I guess google translate or deepl can do a decent job for translating. This is the story of a headless character who explores the world of dreams in order to find again his head. In this third chapter, he discovers he's not alone in this situation and follows a guru. I did the music tonight with my keyboard, really simple, only MIDI/VST tracks. 

Quick resume to explain the music:
00:00 - 00:15: The headless character is happy, he believes he found his head.
00:15 - 01:30: His friend the magical bird reveals him that he just hallucinated. He tries to console him and bring him to the crooked city. 
01:30 - 03:40: The headless character find a group of headless people watching a show. He joins them and listen to a guru's speech.
03:40 - 07:10: Enchanted, he enters in the guru's spaceship, listen some of his bullshit speech and then realizes this sect is not great. The others reject him and he sees how shitty looks in reality their spaceship. 
07:10 - 07:40: Finally, even if he didn't find his head, he's happy like this.

About this track: this is a joyous tune. I started with the glockenspiel, then added clarinet, recorder and various sounds. In the background, you can hear the bells from a flock of sheeps that I recorded when I was walking in the swiss mountains few years ago in summer. Hope this happiness can be contagious!

For this track, I started to stretch some clarinet notes to create this dark pattern. Then I recorded clarinet lines, recorder and electronic beats with keyboard and some editing. In the middle of the track, there is a part where I down pitched the tonality of the woodwinds to create a kind of void feel.

This little keyboard melody was done hover an improvisation with some bowls I recorded few months ago. I like the textures they provide.  Since then, I got my own bowls and I started to play with.

Berceuse

This is a recent track in the same vibe of my previous project "FÛ". I had so much fun using my recorder and clarinet, I wanted to extend a bit the experience. I don't know if this one is really finished but I wanted to share it anyways. What do you think? I hope you can feel the positive bird-like energy.

I have also another project including meditative instruments and custom hand made percussions. I'm very slow because I go to so many directions. Recently I did my first collective exhibition and sold 4 drawings out of 5. I was surprised how people really loved the work. I want to make more art as well as more music and meanwhile I have also to develop my work as an independent - I don't want anymore to give all my time to a work that makes me feel I'm sacrifing all my freedom. All of this is complicated to me but I'm happy to make some important choices. Well, I think I write too much about my life here. :) When I'm done with some "professional" stuff I have to do, I will be back with more music and more power for artistic purposes.

I'm happy to present soon my new album "Soul Pulse". I started a new job this month, so I'm a bit slow to finish the mix. So here it is a very direct track I just did between yesterday (electronic) and today (bowls), trying to capture the essence of this album. Mainly I played with singing bowls and other meditative instruments like tongue drums, custom percussions mixed with electronic. I was inspired by this kind of electro/techno, with repetitive beats, trying to express the link between body and soul, very organic, a kind of spirituality all pumping by blood, and how everything is connected. And the power of will. It's all about being alive. This is how I would describe this bunch of tracks - and this quick track could be an introduction.

This track was one of the first I created with the idea of mixing some beats and singing bowls. I think the final result is quite ambient, but I finally enjoyed the atmosphere this way. It's a true honor to have Lady of Fire Poetry's voice on this track. I love her music and highly recommend everyone to check out her sounds: https://soundcloud.com/ladyofire. This track was originally made entirely with the sound of my singing bowls (the original version is included on my Soul Pulse album as a bonus). Then, it became clear to me that Tanisha's voice and words would fit perfectly with this music so I asked her if she wanted to join. Her poetry then inspired me to add textures (detuned kalimba, percussions on paper) and airy melodies with keyboard.
