Flo Wilson is a composer, performer and sonic artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau/ Auckland, Aotearoa/ New Zealand. Her work ranges from constructing a performance, to exploring spatial sound across various mediums including within her production and in sound installations. She is known for creating music which uses multi-layered voices to interweave with field recordings, creating immersive, lush compositions. 

In particular she is curious about the relationships between people and technology; how technology can extend, reduce and manipulate our modes of being. She has exhibited sound installations in the USA, Australia and New Zealand, had her thesis published in the Australian Computer Music Conference and released her debut EP '(Please) Keep Breathing' in 2017. She holds a degree from the New Zealand School of Music, with first class honours in sonic arts. 

This mix is dedicated to Flo's dear friend, the late, great Reuben Samuel Winter (Totems, Milk) and journeys from the concert hall to the club, and then back to the bush.

Auckland-based electronic group SoccerPractise return with their third single, I Was Screaming.
I Was Screaming is a claustrophobic, minimalist arrangement with elements of dancehall and garage and lyrics which explore identity and estrangement. 
The track was recorded in Mt Eden, Auckland, with Samuel Moore of  Bad Energy and mastered in Brooklyn, New York, by acclaimed mastering engineer Sarah Register.
SoccerPractise’s two previous singles, Windfall and Haere Mai E Tama were both number one hits on alt. radio across Aotearoa.  Windfall was also selected by Spotify for their ‘Fresh Picks’ playlist and has now been streamed more than 120,000 times on the site. 
SoccerPractise are currently finishing their debut album and will be performing at Splore 2017 among a number of other dates.  A music video for I Was Screaming will be released in December 2016.

Her organic, experimental music creates emotive atmospheres aiming to facilitate empathetic, shared listening experiences. She has performed and exhibited in the USA, Australia and throughout New Zealand and released her debut EP '(Please) Keep Breathing' in 2017. Anika Moa has described one of Flo’s works as ‘trippy’! 

This melodic and experimental mix moves between the club, classical, pop, and sparse percussive tracks, taking you on a journey between the natural and the synthesized. Enjoy!
