The latest edition to the series is a mix I recorded a few weeks ago sat in a cosy yurt at 10AM on a sparkling sunny morning in North Wales. Thanks so much to Eddy from Neighbourhood Cotch for having me play on his stage at On-Kilter, a small boutique festival set in a beautiful green estate. 

This was the first ambient set I played in person post-lockdown, and it was magical to hear this music on a big soundsystem again, and to feel it drifting out over the hills and through the ancient oak trees. To me, this music is always best experienced in nature, especially in the summer, so I'm glad to have had the chance to situate it there. Hope you enjoy this nearly 2.5hour long drifty journey ☀️🌳🍄

We could not imagine a more fitting Podcast Series contribution to soundtrack the peak of our of summer than this lush dubby mix recorded by the New York via Chicago DJ & productress Eden Aurelius 🦋

Back in April last year, the inaugural record on the Glaswegian label co:clear lands in the crates at Phonica Records and it steals the show. It was the debut release by Eden Aurelius titled ‘Plateau’ with it’s soft-edged downtempo take on dub techno dancing through clouds of ambient textures and perfectly embodying that netherworld in between ambient and dance music that is the beating heart of Introspective Electronics. Over a year later, we are so grateful and proud to have Eden feature on our Podcast Series with this stunning hour-long recording 💕

Nothing else to do now but to plunge into the dubwise depths of this magick mix where tender energy ebbs and flows in the spaces between not-quite-ambient and not-quite dance. It’s in the liminal space of the soft cracks in between. Aren’t you curious to hear? ✨

This month sees the 30th anniversary reissue of “Music for Nitrous Oxide”, the debut album from seminal ambient / drone artists Stars of the Lid. 

Adam Wiltzie marks this milestone with an hour of music that influenced him and fellow member, Brian McBride, who sadly passed away in 2023. The mix features sounds from Cocteau Twins, Ennio Morricone, Vangelis, as well as original tracks.

At last year’s Opening Party at Unsound Kraków, DJ E (aka Chuquimamani-Condori) showcased their distinct hyper-charged sound. Narrowing it down to genres is pretty impossible, but there are fragments of Andean folk, cumbia and country music ballads, often carefully layered with a bunch of soundboard-effects. The result is a classic DJ E set. Many of the tracks played here were recently included in the almost 2-hour long collection Edits, which you can pick up on Chuquimamani-Condori’s Bandcamp page.
