RITE OF CHRISTMAS or Le Sacre du Noel (The Consecration of Christmas) was composed by Philippine composer, Ariel Arambulo. This piece is Dedicated to The Almighty Child JESUS, Our Lord & Saviour.  The music is about finding BABY JESUS amidst this modern-day materialistic worldly frenzy of the Christmas shopping ritual. This is the internet premiere of this Christmas piano piece. This Live Performance recording was performed by Philippine pianist, Oliver Salonga during the concert MUSIC FOR CHRIST on Dec.30, 2006 (Feast of The Holy Family)in Francisco Santiago Hall, Makati City, Philippines. This was the World Premiere performance. This 2015 Internet Premiere celebrates the 10th Anniversary of the composition of RITE OF CHRISTMAS & the 450th Anniversary of the "kaplag" (discovery) of the miraculous image of the Almighty Child Jesus in Cebu, Philippines. This piece was orchestrated in 2013 with the intention to help raise funds for Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) victims & Bohol Earthquake vicitms in the Philippines. It was also orchestrated as a Christian response to the 100th Anniversary of the composition of Le Sacre du Printemps (The Consecration of Spring) by Igor Stravinsky which is about a human sacrifice ritual to a pagan god of spring. Ariel saw the necessity to Re-Consecrate Music to Christ.

Rite of Christmas (Le Sacre du Noel)                                                (2005)

This Pro-Life Song - BAGONG SILANG NA NAMAN  "NEW-BORN AGAIN" (1996) is about an unwed mother who decides to keep her baby and about the Conversion of gang members from Bagong Silang (a real place in Caloocan), to JESUS. Both the baby and the former gang members are "New-Born Again," with the Holy Spirit.  BAGONG SILANG NA NAMAN's Music & Lyrics (in Tagalog)are by Philippine Composer - Ariel Arambulo (b.June 12, 1970). It was Ariel's public debut as a composer/lyricist, with this song finale included with his other songs for the Theatrical Production, BAGONG SILANG, The Musical (1996)- which premiered 20 Years ago from this year 2016. It was produced by Couples for Christ's Angkop Foundation, headed then by GK Founder Tony Meloto. BAGONG SILANG, The Musical was the initial fund-raiser for the free-housing-for-the-poor project called GAWAD KALINGA (Give Care)or GK, which first free housing project was built in fact in Bagong Silang, Caloocan. BAGONG SILANG, The Musical starred now-reformed, former gang members who have found new life in Christ with the help of Catholic Christians from Couples for Christ who braved preaching to them and help them reform their lives.  BAGONG SILANG The Musical was the story of their Conversion to Jesus.  By 1998, BAGONG SILANG The Musical had run 100 times throughout the Philippines, with it's 100th performance being at the Cultural Center of the Philippines.  Ariel broke his arm on Jan.1, 1996 on an icy lake in Potsdam, Germany. He was not able to play his favorite childhood piece with the Jeunesses Musicales World Orchestra thus not fulfilling his dream. God had better plans. That same year 1996, Ariel was asked by Tony Meloto to write songs for a fund-raising Christian Musical to be called BAGONG SILANG. Ariel was at first hesitant to use his compositional ideas which he had been sketching since high school (intended for a secular solo pop album he wanted to produce). But with a short deadline, Ariel decided to offer all his song ideas to God. In 1996 God then rewarded Ariel with the fulfillment of his composing aspirations with Ariel's commitment that his music be Always Linked to Loving God and Loving Neighbor - MUSIC FOR CHRIST!

Bagong Silang na Naman (1996)    "New-Born Again" - NBA

Philippine composer - Ariel Arambulo (born June 12, 1970) composed PIETA, and is Dedicated to Ariel's violin mentor, Prof. Sergio Z. Esmilla, Jr. The composition PIETA is inspired by MIchaelangelo's sculpture also titled, PIETA (in photo)which is in St.Peter's Basilica, Vatican, (Rome, Italy). Ariel begun composing PIETA in 1989 (a year after Ariel met the Dedicatee) and completed it in 1997. In 1998, Ariel was able to study Composition in Rome, Italy at the Accademia Internazionale delle Arti. It was only then Ariel saw the beautiful PIETA sculpture "in person" at St.Peter's Basilica, Vatican which inspired his composition with the same name. Ariel & his wife Gigi gave the World Premiere of PIETA's version for violin and piano in Rome, Italy during the Philippine Independence Centennial Concert presented by the Philippine Embassy to Rome.  
PIETA depicts Mother Mary's total submission to God's will, giving her Divine Son JESUS as The Lamb offered to God the Father for the expiation of the world's sins, from the altar of her loving arms. Both PIETA the sculpture and the music depict this. 
Ariel would like to pay homage to Filipino hero couple: Ninoy and Cory Aquino whom Ariel believes followed the example of Jesus and Mary in denying themselves and offering their lives to God the Father. Ninoy, despite threats to his life came back to the Philippines from exile in Boston, USA in Aug.21, 1983 to awaken the Filipinos (Ninoy was assassinated) to fight for God's Justice peacefully even at the cost of his own life (self-denial). Ninoy said:  "The Filipino is worth dying for." Cory, the widow agreed to run for president and won against all the cheating and scare tactics because of her total trust in God and the collective trust of the Filipino people in God called PEOPLE PRAYER POWER which brought about the 1986 EDSA First Peaceful Revolution in the World - the template for World Peace. It is the 30th Anniversary of the EDSA Miracle this year 2016. EDSA is the acronym for the name Epifanio de los Santos which in English means "Manifestation of the Saints." God calls us all to trust in God completely through our self-denial and calls all peoples of the world to manifest our "Sainthood" to attain God's Justice through Non-Violence and henceforth World Peace. Thus says the Lord GOD..."This, rather, is the fasting that I wish: releasing those bound unjustly, untying the thongs of the yoke; Setting free the oppressed, breaking every yoke; 
Sharing your bread with the hungry, sheltering the oppressed and the homeless; Clothing the naked when you see them, and not turning your back on your own.

This recording was made in 1997 performed by Ariel Arambulo on multiple violins and multiple violas, Francisco Llorin on multiple cellos, Jay Gomez on flutes 1 & 2 and Gerry Duran on guitar. The vocal version of PIETA titled "Ang Mapalad" (Blessed are they - The Beatitudes)was included in the fund-raising musical KAHIRUP (PEACE in the Illongo dialect) produced by Couples for Christ's Angkop Foundation headed then by Gawad Kalinga (GK) founder, Tony Meloto. PIETA's version for violin and piano had it's Philippine Premiere performed again by the composer on the violin and his wife Gigi on the piano during Ariel's Debut Solo Composition concert titled,  MUSIC FOR CHRIST at FRANCISCO SANTIAGO HALL, Makati City, on Dec. 30, 2006, the Feast of THE  HOLY FAMILY: JESUS, MARY & JOSEPH (10 years ago on this year 2016).

IMMACULATE MOTHER VARIATIONS was Composed by Ariel Arambulo (Antonio Gabriel G. Arambulo) in 2002 for the CD album MARIAN MATINS produced by Jesuit Communications, Philippines. It became the Finale to that album. This recording is the "Live" PIANO QUINTET version from ARIEL's Solo Composition Concert titled, MUSIC FOR CHRIST on Dec.30, 2006 (Feast of the Holy Family) at the Francisco Santiago Hall, Makati City Philippines by the GMS (Greenhills Music Studio) Ensemble: ARIEL performs on first violin, while his students - Andie Reyes performs on second violin and JJ (John Jerry) Ginon performs on viola. Herrick Ortiz performs on cello, & Ariel's wife - Gigi (Maria Virginia G. Arambulo)performs on the piano. MUSIC FOR CHRIST 2006 was for the benefit of ANG ARKO NG PILIPINAS (L'Arche Philippines), an NGO which cares for abandoned people with mental disabilities. That same year on GOOD FRIDAY 2006, Ariel and his students Andie & JJ, with Chloe Canton-Rice on piano performed the Piano Quartet version of IMMACULATE VARIATIONS in Turin, Italy (Oratorio di SAN FILIPPO NERI).

The Peace Philharmonic Philippines (PPP) also gave the Visayas premiere of the Orchestral version with pipe organ in the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CATHEDRAL in Cebu City, Philippines in 2005. The Manila Symphony Orchestra (MSO) gave the Luzon premiere of the orchestral version with piano in Makati City. It was also performed by the PREDIS Orchestra at the 2013 MUSIC FOR CHRIST FESTIVAL on Dec.12, 2013 (Feast of MARY, Our Lady of Guadalupe) for the benefit of the victims of the 2013 Typhoon Haiyan through Philippine Red Cross and for the construction of the Casa Marello - Home for the Aged Priests of the Oblates of St.Joseph, held in Santuario de San Jose Church, Greenhills East, Mandaluyong City - the concert garnered a standing ovation.

About the work: MI PATRIA ADORADA is a Symphonic Poem composed by Ariel Arambulo (born June 12,1970) from Manila, Philippines.
"Mi Patria Adorada" means "My Beloved Fatherland" in Spanish, and refers to the first phrase in Jose Rizal's poem "Mi Ultimo Adios" (My Final Farewell).
MI PATRIA ADORADA (2011), The Symphonic Poem is Dedicated to the composer's Father: AUGUSTO CESAR ARAMBULO, SR. (b.1935). It is also Dedicated to the Heroes of the Philippines: and in particular, the composer's paternal grandfather: COL.JOSE A. ARAMBULO (1899-1991), who suffered & survived THE DEATH MARCH of 1942, as well as to the eldest sister of the composer's maternal grandmother: JOSEFA LLANES ESCODA (1898-1945), Heroine, who was executed in 1945 by Japanese Imperial Troops for being the Spiritual Leader of the Underground Resistance against the Japanese Invaders.

HALLELUJAH CONCERTO (2010) was Composed by Philippine Composer, Ariel Arambulo (born June 12, 1970) for his mother - Prof. Carmencita Guanzon-Arambulo, or MRS.A (as everyone fondly calls her) in honor of her achievements in Music and Music Education. The piece is Dedicated to her. 
HALLELUJAH CONCERTO's music bears the initials of MRS.A - the musical notes CGA which, added with a G is the Hallelujah motif of Handel.  The concerto treats the CGA and Hallelujah motifs in different compositional styles. The Scary Segment depicts the prophesied 3 DAYS OF DARKNESS (The Day of Wrath of GOD) that will exterminate all evildoers. The following CLIMACTIC episode is The TRIUMPH of THE WHITE ARMY OF THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS and IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY headed on earth by the prophesied GREAT KING OF FRANCE and after, ENOCH and ELIJAH with ST.MICHAEL slaying the antichrist, saving the CHURCH MILITANT (God's Kingdom on Earth) and finally resolves with JESUS' SECOND COMING and the piece accelerates to end swiftly with THE GREAT AMEN!

The WORLD PREMIERE of HALLELUJAH CONCERTO was given on August 1, 2010 at Fleur de lis Hall, Manila during the Tribute Concert - MRS.A's OPUS celebrating 50 years of her distinguished career as a piano pedagogue. (Aug.1, 2010 is also the 1st Death Anniversary of former Philippine president and hero, Corazon "Cory" Aquino who was honored also). HALLELUJAH CONCERTO is for Piano soloist and was premiered by Mrs.A's prize-winning piano student, Rowena Arrieta, who is the only Filipino Laureate winner at the Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow, Russia (she won at age 18). The soloist is accompanied by a Second piano with 2 pianists (Therese Gemora-Girn and Jonathan Coo) and the PSA-GMS (Philippine Suzuki Association-Greenhills Music Studio) Orchestra, Conducted by the Composer - Ariel Arambulo. HALLELUJAH CONCERTO was also performed in Santuario de San Jose church for the Hidden JESUS in The Holy Tabernacle in 2014 with Ariel conducting the Philippine Suzuki Association (PSA) Teachers Orchestra tutti with Florida-based pianist Chance Israel as soloist and Maria Virginia G. Arambulo and Therese Gemora-Girn on second piano tutti.

HALLELUJAH CONCERTO (2010)

ARKIPELAGO PILIPINO (a Fantasia on Philippine Folk Tunes) was Composed by Ariel Arambulo in 2007 and was given it's World Premiere by the Philippine-Korean Suzuki Teachers Orchestra led by Ariel from the violin, during the 3rd Suzuki Asia Conference held in the Philippines. This recording is the 2013 Japan Premiere of the work performed (during the 16th Suzuki World Convention) by the Philippine Suzuki Ensemble again led by Ariel, on Holy Saturday anticipating Easter Sunday where Shinichi Joseph Suzuki's 15th Death Anniversary was Celebrated at the Easter Sunday Mass in Matsumoto Catholic Church. Matsumoto City is headquarters of Suzuki Method and Shinichi Joseph Suzuki (1898-1998), who is a Catholic Japanese violinist was the renowned founder of this Method (also called Talent Education).  The performance was Dedicated to him, to Japan and the world and most of all, to CHRIST THE KING OF THE UNIVERSE. (The picture is JESUS' statue on one the HUNDRED ISLANDS of Pangasinan, Philippines. These islands are among the 7,107 islands that comprise the Philippine Archipelago ). The piece was also Dedicated to Dr. MIneo Nakajima (President of Akita University and Suzuki's student when he was a child). Dr, Nakajima was the organizing chairman of the 16th World Convention when he untimely passed away of Feb. 14, 2013 - a month before the Convention. Akita City is where Mother Mary appeared to a Japanese Nun - Sr. Agnes Sasagawa in 1973.

ARKIPELAGO PILIPINO has been performed also in Malaysia (2011), Taiwan (2014), and Indonesia (2016), all led by Ariel.

Upon the invitation of the Pres. Benigno Aquino III government, Ariel and his Suzuki students (including a 4 yr.old and an orphan) performed at Malacanang Presidential Palace - ARKIPELAGO PILIPINO for their Majesties Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan during the State Dinner in their honor on Jan. 27, 2016.

Life on earth is short. Heaven or Hell is Eternal. Glorify God on earth while you still can. Composer Ariel will turn 50 this June 12, 2020 (which is also Philippine Independence Day). Ariel finished producing the "Shelter Me" recording on June 5, 2020 (First Friday), then news came that his 48 year old neighbor, Cathy Del Valle passed away of a heart attack that day. Ariel originally was producing this song in memory of another neighbor, Ida Viñas who in her 50's passed away the year before on 2019. It was Ida Viñas' husband, Dr. Noli Viñas who asked Ariel to write  "Shelter Me" 21 years ago in 1999 for a fundraiser his Catholic Renewal Community had for their Home-for-the-Poor-Project called "Jubilee Homes."
