14 English Outcasts is Ariel Archer's debut album, digitally released on 28th November 2011 to coincide with William Blake's birthday. Responding to the Slutwalk and Occupy movements, each track represents an outsider's take on society. Every song of the fourteen conveys a part of the psyche for which there is little space in contemporary life. Recorded in Ariel's London studio, produced by the artist, the album uses vintage synths, cello, piano, stylophone and wine glasses to capture the sounds of resistance to an overdetermined, hyper-digital zeitgeist. The album arrives on the heels of a crowdfunded track - 'Supernova' - being featured in the climax of E4 series Made in Chelsea in the summer of 2011.

On 2nd March 2012, I gave my first livestream performance of songs from my debut album 14 English Outcasts to a small group of friends & supporters. This is the sound recording of stripped-down live versions 'The Actress' and 'The Surgeon' broadcast from my studio in central London. 

For the next few weeks I'll be sharing these works-in-progress, a couple of songs each Friday night, as I progress towards an hour-long livestream performance on Friday 13th April 2012. I'm a singer-songwriter based in London, producing indie pop. My music features instruments such as dulcimer, cello, piano, stylophone, kalimba, synthesizers, guitars and wine glasses.
