Self-proclaimed ‘24/7 Disco Boy’ Aristo G returns to Street Tracks with the ‘Body Motion’ EP.  Following 2021’s ‘Rapture’ EP, the Australian producer serves up another trio of feel-good house tunes packed with punchy rhythms and powerful melodies.

Soaring synth riffs and chunky bass characterise the lead track ‘Can You Feel The Funk’, as an arresting vocal topline cements this fun and funky disco house number.  On ‘Shock Me With Your Love’, a hi-NRG vibe is captured, doffing its cap to the tunes that backdropped the NYC disco heydays, whilst the arpeggiated bassline of ‘Synthetic Love’ propels a deep and delicious synthwave style cut that wouldn’t sound out of place on a vintage John Carpenter movie.

Next up for the X-PRESSINGS edit series we have an unbelievable high energy edit of the 80’s giants Pet Shop Boys track ‘Heart’ released back in 1987. This spin on the classic is from a young, amazingly talented home grown up and comer named Aristo G. He will also be featuring in our ‘XPRESS Turns One’ show on April 22nd. Keep an eye out for we are sure he will be making many more waves in the scene with his productions!

The one-man disco punk band. Melbourne’s Aristo G joins Midnight People with two singles When Hearts Collide / See You Later Sanity which combine chuggy basslines with post-punk vocals, transporting us back to our favourite New Wave era. 

When Hearts Collide / See You Later Sanity are both dark and gritty yet euphoric and joyous all at the same time. Aristo G delivers classy post-punk vocals which spin a love story narrative gone wrong. 

The EP comes with two dubbed-out mixes, friendly for the clubs.

I wrote and recorded this banger in one night of madness a few weeks ago. With a brief gap in the forthcoming release schedule, we figured f**k it, lets just release it. Barebones post-punk with no frills (or laser sounds or power tools - i did contemplate it)

The music video is compiled from a bunch of experimental 1920's films in the public domain I edited and spliced together in a consecutive night of madness.

I See Angels in the Night is the inaugural EP of a gothic release series exploring re-imagined post-punk, darkwave, and industrial aesthetics. It's darkwave, but not entirely. It's synth-pop, but haunting. It's completely 80's, but completely contemporary. Dominated by Aristo's indelible poetic vocal lines, the song is an emersion into a euphoric nothingness.
