The Diamond Miner was composed after my mother passed away in 2014. Recorded randomly in March'15,  and kept away from people, because of how personal it has been to me. This song, dedicated to my parents, speaks about a miner, digging through dirt for the diamonds he cannot own and returns home to his wife tired and asleep. 

As I coped through accepting the sudden change in my life, I observed my father, as he felt alone, and mourned. Memories can hurt like nails, or soothe like morphine, I realized. And sooner or later, life lets us choose between the two. And as my father chose the latter, I saw him evolve into a husband in love, missing his wife. And believe me when I say it, there is a difference. 

Loss can be troubling. Loss can be unsettling. But it's a part of life. We get to choose how we remember a person, we get to give them life again, through moments trapped in our lives. This song is my attempt at making those moments immortal. And like those moments, this song isn't perfect. I hope this song speaks to you, how it speaks to me.

The DIamond Miner - Arjun Kar

Written in 2011, this song speaks about first love, the innocence surrounding it, and the madness it leaves behind. Performed as a song by The Accidental Note, it was dedicated to a friend who shared carpool rides with his first crush and how the blinking streetlights felt like the stars and every little moment feels like the end of the world. 

This song was later released as a part of our first EP, "Life & Love" in 2012.
