Gravity ft. Tyler Rodes

I awoke in the dark of the night to the sound of wind whispering through my open window. The cool summer gust echoed it's way into my room and seemed to beckon me outside. The sun had yet to rise, but I could sense it's warmth beginning to mingle with the refreshing night air. 
I walked through fields, pathways, and by a rushing stream. Finally I knew where I was supposed to be, I stopped in a valley alone; but surrounded by hundreds of small lights dancing their way around me. 
I stopped and enjoyed the sight before the journey home through this valley, and all the way the little lightning bugs made sure I could see the path before me. 
They ducked in an out of trees, always blinking as if they were having conversations with one another. When I returned home, I felt the need to write a song that captured this emotion, that every time I listened I would remember this  valley of fireflies.

Valley of Fireflies

A musical ballad I composed and sang for my dear love, who is separated from me by distance. The other day she expressed how lonely she was and how sad the months apart from each other are. I took to writing her a song, pulling from the memories of the beach where she lives and my time with her; to express the depth of my love and to provide her with something to listen to when I'm not around. For you Taryn <3 ^_^
