Lingo has been diagnosed with recurrent depressive disorder since 2005 and has often referred to himself as "a disappointed idealist and a depressed optimist." He is currently working to become a physicist and mechanical engineer with the goal to "fix the world using science and technology." He also wants to unite different people from around the world without damaging their individual heritages and the cultures associated with them.

Further, Lingo sometimes writes about himself in the third person.
