Hypnotic Groove Mix #472 - Chris Mitchell

Recorded on January 11th 2025, London, MKII, at the 'Burning of the Clavie'. adam creates a journey into mystical realms, including field recordings throughout his winter period, most notably Solstice celebrations, crescendoing with a jubilant hand-fast ceremony.

This artwork is a collaboration between adam and Mark Wagner, creating cymatics of sonic experimentation, and with each installment of the series, we will explore turning a fraction of sound into light. 🎨

As part of The Gun’s run of final events, I hosted 2 ‘Just Because’ nights, based on the premise that the DJs would not exceed 100bpm, unless it was in case of an emergency. I was able to invite some of my closest friends to play across the two nights, including Debonair, Nadia Ksaiba, Emma Rudge, Ilan and my b2b partner on this particular night, Matt Walsh. 

We go back a long way, going to all of the same parties in the mid-noughties, playing together a lot at Bugged Out, Wax:On and the like and even hosting our own weekly residency, High Horse, at the legendary T Bar (alongside Ben and Alex from the equally legendary Skull Juice).

Matt and I decided that it would be nice to share this set ahead of our gig together in Margate this Sunday 4th May at Faith In Strangers.

Completing the triumvirate is our pal Daniel Avery, who’ll be headlining the night.

Manuel Fogliata, aka Nuel, is part of a new wave of techno coming from Italy, led by studio partner Donato Dozzy. Togheter Nuel and Dozzy have released two highly sought after Aquaplano EPs, now selling for hundreds of Euros in Discogs. The Aquaplano sounds explores hypnotic techno and meditative ambient in equal measure. Nuel is continuing to expand his musical horizons, with his latest EP explorig electro and drum and bass. In late 2011 he will release his debut album on Further Records , a beautiful and deeply introspective work.
