Vox Machina: Trance-endence

Recognised for its influence in the radio and dance music industries, Markus Schulz's dedication and admiration for the connection between creator and listener is borne through his weekly Global DJ Broadcast journeys; accentuated through a series of dedicated themed mixes, reflecting the seasons of the calendar.

For the spring season, the aspect of vocal trance is laid into focus; reflected through the bond of music and words, where the vocalist is as important as the artist. Titled In Bloom to reflect the illumination of color as flowers blossom, the 2022 edition marks the sixth outing of this particular concept, and anticipation for its release grows with every passing year.

In Bloom is heavily influenced by pieces which have been appraised by Global DJ Broadcast listeners across the last 12 months, and features a cast list of lyricists the community holds dear - including the likes of HALIENE, Susana, Diana Miro, Justine Suissa, Sue McLaren and many more. It is also a platform for artists to shine, with ever reliable acts such as Giuseppe Ottaviani, Andy Moor, Kyau & Albert, Nifra and Richard Durand featuring.

Recent productions and remixes from Markus in the vocal realm are also included; ranging from the opera stylings of Paula Seling on Endless Story, to emotionally-driven In Search of Sunrise remixes of Late Night Alumni and Christian Burns.

A deeply-considered reflection of vocal trance favorites, In Bloom 2022 by Markus Schulz is a mix worth savoring.

Welcome to a very special edition of Global DJ Broadcast, as Markus Schulz today introduces the latest in his series of themed concept mixes. A two hour all vocal trance journey titled In Bloom, joining the ranks of the established Sunrise Set, Afterdark and Classics Showcase. 

The goal with In Bloom is to celebrate and embrace the spring season. This concept in particular is focused on words, and how they are interpreted through song, weaved throughout the eras of past, present and future. 

And by the future, that includes the world premiere of world premiere of Markus' brand new Dakota single, his remake of the iconic Running Up That Hill, an integral piece of his audiovisual project The Nine Skies.

A series of heavy-weight remixes for two of the biggest tunes of Faruk Sabanci making, ‘Awaken’ ft. Cami and ‘Wake Up’ ft. Josie. AVA Recordings welcomes 5 new talents on remix duties.

Known for his outstanding melodic touch, throbbing bass and perfect vocal fusion, Faruk Sabanci faces a bright future. But this time, it was up to the talents of other producers to show their worth.
‘Awaken’, the warm and emotional tune that came out a few months ago, now sees brand new translations by several talents. Polish producer Matt Bukovski does what he does best; redefining the tune with a steamy hot prog-trance sound. DJ Tarkan & V-Sag kept their focus on deep, proggy bass, while Zetandel pitched things down and brought out a classy Chill-Out interpretation.

‘Wake Up’, carrying the strong voice of Josie, was given a remix treatment by Mike Danis. The Hungarian talent brings out a full-blasting trance mix with a solid break. Sezer Uysal & Shingo Nakamura might be two names quite hard to remember, but we assure you that their remix for ‘Wake Up’ isn’t. A deep, pounding bass and proggy vibe is all it takes for their remix to hit right in where needed.

In the early years of the millennium, one name constantly resounded. York, the project of German producer Torsten Stenzel.
