Cotenius X is the duo that stops making sense. It’s an exploratory improvisational project of the Ukrainian sound artist Daria Redkina and the Russian experimental vocalist Varya Pavlova aka Lisokot. Improvising together since 2017 they incorporate folk, electronic and musique concrète elements into their spontaneous compositions. Their theatrical performances involve impersonation or adoption of different characters and are informed by social, historical, and site-specific narratives.

Both Redkina and Pavlova work with loops, synths and effects, reshaping various samples into novel forms. “Oceans In Flames”, for example, evokes a slowly evolving sound field that sprouts, collapses and decays under flickering fluorescent bulbs. The effect is not dissimilar to the epic catastrophic landscape paintings, but remixed for our own AI-saturated end times.

Most of the tracks on Plastic Bag are recordings of live shows. “Burunduk” is taken from the duo’s first ever performance and sees Pavlova impersonating animal spirits – forest sprites and haunted chipmunks abound. Meanwhile “Fukushima Tuna” and the album’s title track employ the talents of avant-garde saxophonist Sergey Letov who sows seeds of optimism onto the scorched plastic soil...

We welcome the duo MARMO to take us on our next voyage. Christian Duka and Marco Maldarella hold a musical relationship that spans boarders, allowing them to draw influence from a range of sources. 

Christian is no stranger to the Above Below family but under the MARMO alias, he sheds new light on his vast skill set. Alongside Marco, they experiment with improvisation and introspective emotional narratives. With past influences including Rock/Metal, the pair are not shy of pushing new boundaries. 

Recorded at Sinestesie(Italy) this mix weaves through downtempo and deep techno to start, progressing effortlessly into components driven by trance and breaks. It's a set that really captures the true essence of their unique style.

Neodruidic Transmissions VA – A sonic relic of mystical messages transmitted through time and space by futuristic druids.

In a distant future, druidic rituals have evolved into intricate sonic algorithms, unlocking portals of consciousness. This compilation is a collection of lost transmissions—resonances emerging from digital forests and the echoes of ancient incantations. Each track serves as a key to an altered state, where shamanic past and cybernetic destiny intertwine in an eternal spell. Psychedelic textures drift through half-tempo and accelerate rhythms , weaving an auditory tapestry that dissolves the boundaries between the organic and the synthetic, the archaic and the futuristic.

We begin by welcoming back our master shaman, KOP 32, who unveils an opening ritual woven with minimalist incantations expanding across the stereo field, accompanied by melodies that echo the very first spells. Next, Organic Signs’ label manager Jan Swam guides us through a landscape of shifting textures, sliced open by psychedelic synths and softened by a ceaseless whisper, keeping us suspended in a hypnotic trance. As we journey deeper into the portal, we encounter our beloved Solma, whose unmistakable neodruidic sound—so beautifully captured in his recent debut album—unfolds like an ancient prophecy.

We welcome Autogenesis, an Australian artist whose sonic alchemy has graced various esteemed labels. For this occasion, he conjures a track that rises in intensity, showcasing masterful craftsmanship in the art of space and expansion. We extend a warm welcome to the enigmatic French producer Sòn du Maquis. A shadowy architect of sound, he gifts us a track brimming with untamed energy, battle-hardened and triumphant on the dancefloor. Sirens wail through the air, summoned by the voice of a sorcerer from the abyss, weaving a spell that lingers long after the last echo fades.And finally, closing the neofuturistic portal, we present WAPAQ—the visionary duo of xci and blechh—making also their Organic Signs debut. They leave us with a spectral transmission, a hypnotic blend of celestial pulses and subterranean echoes, a spellbinding finale to this sonic odyssey.
