After "Strike the Barrels" I wanted to do another epic drum song. I found that some staccato strings work great with the rhythm and adding full orchestra worked very well for a huge sound. To get to the climax I found some great vocal shouts in Evolve.

The story behind:
When I was playing around with the Balinese Gamelan from NI, the sounds created the impression of a mesmerizing ritual in my head. I started making Gamelan ostinatos and build a song around it. I added an African Bolon, choir and vocals, drums, strings and guitar which I recorded myself.

The story behind:
Testing out "Masterbrass" by Auddict I found especially the octohorns to sound really authentic and heroic. Then I played with the dynamics and I really loved the sound when they play gently. The samples include a lot of other noises from the recording, you can hear that at the beginning of the track.

Wanted to write a new Star Wars style track to try out some orchestration techniques and get better with using sample libraries - especially the brass.

Rebel Assault

The task of this GCN challenge was to write up to one minute of music that sounds like a composer you are assigned to. I got Hans Zimmer and made a track that takes inspiration from cues from "Interstellar", "Batman" and bit of "Inception" and the upcoming "Dunkirk". There are too many styles to portray in one minute, but I decided to go for those two. Slow rising and big action.
I won the "Best Production" award for this competing against 15 others in 3 categories!
