Everyone loves the word dubplate. It’s something that’s bashed about the scene pretty loosely these days but what’s serious amiss is that actual dubplates were pressed to promote tracks before promo copies were even considered.

Taking that fact into consideration you wouldn’t think Serial Killaz would even touch a release under the title ‘Dubplate’ without it being of serious quality would you? Of course not! 

This EP from Limited is firing all kinds of shots - bring forth the flamethrowers.

The title track, ‘Dubplate’ provided a staple amount of reggae infused new school jungle although the switch here is that the bassline layering is a combination of hefty subs and glossy metallic tones that physically rip through metal speaker mesh. If you’re watching the red lines, this one is a serious warning to sound engineers.

‘Gang Related’ has been bashed to bits by DJs currently supporting this EP and for a valid reason. It’s a nasty piece of filth that belongs in the gutter, the type of track you would only dare to drop in a really moody dance. Not one for the festival, not one for the radio - just smoke, lazers and darkness.

Switching things 360 degrees with ‘Colour’, a bright and upbeat number with plenty of funk and wobbles. It’s screaming out to be sandwiched into something equally as devastating and for those that understand the true meaning of double dropping, it’s going to be right up your street. Dangerous on it’s own, murderation in a link up.

‘Hit The Streets’ brings the vibe into new territory with plenty of panic ridden vocals, rumbling basslines and skippy swing breaks. Another moody track yet totally different to ‘Gang Related’ due to it’s upbeat breakbeat structure and vocal driven atmosphere.

Lastly ‘Ready’ and boy is this tune a big one! Incredibly well known vocal samples, gunshot effects and no-nonsense production make this an amazing end to the EP. The reversed speech effects combine effortlessly with the recurring “one two” which will have any crowd humming along (which certainly seems to be the in thing at present!).

Shots from the double chamber, Limited is set to cause a ruckus with his new EP this year and Serial Killaz are certainly not standing in his way!.

Wasting no time in following up their recent smash collaborations ‘Clap Your Hands’ with W&W and Fedde Le Grand and ‘Raver Dome’ as 3 Are Legend alongside Steve Aoki, Justin Prime & Sandro Silva, the latest team up sees the Belgian brothers unite with psytrance heavyweights Vini Vici for ‘Get In Trouble (So What)’. The coming together of these musical juggernauts is as heavy as you’d expecting, combining both duos extensive knowledge in music production and ear for a hit to great effect, utilising a standout sample that elevates the track skywards.

A fighting chant builds towards the fast paced drop and sets the tone from the start, as clever use of LFO on a synth cranks up towards the first breakdown, which introduces the iconic vocal that is sure to whip fans into a frenzy. This is carried into the main break, where the familiar guitar lead joins the vocals before switching up to accommodate a high pitched lead that continues into the beat. 

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Vini Vici have a strong history of partnership, with the latter’s premier psytrance label Alteza working under the Smash The House umbrella, and that synergy is on show with ‘Get In Trouble (So What)’, which follows on from previous heavy hitting collaborations such as ‘Untz Untz’ and ‘The House Of House’. Both acts continue to reign supreme in their respective worlds, and their latest work together once again highlights the familiarity in the studio, and the ability to fuse both sounds into an unforgettable anthem that is set to be one of the standout releases of the year. MATTN is a name that has continually pushed forth within the scene, from mainstage sets at Tomorrowland, over to a smattering of releases that have captivated and bought a finesse to the Smash The House imprint, as well as rising up the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Poll for 2020 at #42, she is now joined by Klaas to bring The Logical Song into 2020 with a vivacious cut.

Australian megastar Timmy Trumpet leaps into remix action on his latest outing on Smash The House Records. This time, it’s to give his interpretation of the mammoth 2020 release ‘Get In Trouble (So What)’ from Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Vini Vici.

Timmy Trumpet’s take on this fired-up party banger ‘Get In Trouble (So What)’ retains the originals identifiable rebellious chant but spins off into a more horn infested blend of chaos. The chant at the centre of the song is met with two awesome drops that release padded drums, head-spinning hoovers, and a dose of high-octane combat that is sure to get ravers geared up for a wild night!

Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Vini Vici dropped the original back in June 2020 during the pandemic.
